ABOUT US
Dr. Ada has been a psychiatrist for 12 years, six of
those years in the Austin Area. She received her
general and adult psychiatry training at Texas Tech
University Health Science Center in Lubbock, and
her Child and Adolescent Psychiatry Training at
Scott and White Memorial Hospital, Temple/Texas
A&M University Health Science Center.
At Summit Mental Health Clinic, Dr. Ada is the
only medical doctor, and has an administrative
staff. Dr. Ada currently shares office space with the
following mental health specialist: Carol
Mitchum, Ph.D, LPC, NCC whose specialty
areas include Autism, Asperger’s, PDD, NOS,
ADHD and PTSD, advocate for parents and
children with special needs and works with youth
in the juvenile justice system. Latha Iyengar,
LCSW has over 20 years of psychotherapy
experience, works with adolescents, adults using
Family Systems approach Cognitive behavioral
therapy and others. William Schroeder, LPC
Intern* who specializes in adolescents and young
adults and has three years of clinical experience
and uses a variety of humanistic and cognitive
therapies. William works on a sliding scale of
$30-$60 per session.

We provide optimal mental health care for the whole family. We employ evidence-based
medicine to provide individualized care for each patient. We treat each person with
respect, honesty, integrity, and compassion. Our goal is to help each person attain
their maximum potential, and to function to the best of their ability.
C H I L D R E N
Play is to the child what verbalization is to the adult — it is a
medium for expressing feelings, exploring relationships,
describing experiences and disclosing wishes. We work to create
therapeutic relationships with children through facilitating the
play therapy process. Dr. Mitchum has extensive experience
working with children with Autism, Asperges, ADHD and PTSD.
Dr. Ada’s specialty is providing adequate medication management
for children.
A D O L E S C E N T S
Therapists who struggle to be liked, be cool, or say all the right
things do not only a disservice to themselves, but also to the
teenagers they treat. Focusing on building positive, unaffected
relationships with teenagers, our therapists facilitate
conversation that is candid, constructive, and respectful. Latha
Iyengar and William Schroeder have used this approach with
countless adolescents and found success. Dr. Ada’s works with
adolescents to provide customized medication management.
A D U L T S
The principle factor in counseling is the relationship between
client and therapist. Trust in one another is vital in creating
change. We all work very hard to create an open atmosphere
where problems can be explored and we can work towards
solutions. Latha Iyengar, William Schroeder, and Carol are all
specialist in this area. Dr. Ada is uniquely tuned to the needs of
the individual and has years of experience in providing uniquely
