THE PROBLEM AND ITS BACKGROUND

Introduction

According to Bill Gates, the sector is currently in step forward with

innovation technology wherein matters get less complicated to do in workplaces.

Numerous international locations at show, especially the growing international

locations are fueled through the short revolutionary changes. This has profoundly

modified the residing and operating patterns at domestic, writing on a kind

essayist, music into the radio, and staring at movement snapshots via DVDs, to

doing most of these units at the net.

The importance of pc utility is growing day by day. Within the maximum

current of many years of the thousand years, triumphing corporations had been

the ones which had been inclined to coordinate exchange strategies with pc

statistics innovation in utilizing their unique exchanges. The use of pc statistics

innovation cleared a manner to create their picks quick, capability blessed them

for liquid company structures, empowered them to control with the inquiring for

paintings force and outdoor surroundings via the fast development of creative

tactics and lastly, the control records gadget on achieving their company’s task

and vision.
One of the necessities of a student is a dormitory especially in distant

places or inside the university and for supplementing themselves to live without

guardians. George N. Root III (1985), many places build this business near

schools or inside universities for the better advantage.

The study finds the basic problem and error inside the university

dormitory. The advocates conducted research about the manual process of the

dormitories. This research about is to distinguish and analyze the issues and

gives solutions for dormitory management issues. Dormitory Management is one

of the major management exercises which are performed to organize and

distribute rooms for students. In this process, there’s a potential issue related

with the dormitory management.

The Dormitory Management System Using Attendance Monitoring with

Fingerprint Scanner gives a simple and manageable system that could help the

user to check the profiles of its border. The system particularly centers on

managing the transactional processes submitted by the border and monitors the

records of students going in and out the dormitory instead of using log books that

is really time consuming.

Statement of the Problem

To improve the existing record management system of PSAU Dormitory

Management with respect to:

•Record Management
•Fast Transaction

•Attendance Monitoring

•Report Generation

•Room reservation for students via online or offline.

Purpose

Dormitory Management System with Attendance Monitoring Using

Fingerprint Scanner is a web-based application designed to manage PSAU

dormitory records in easy, fast, and convenient way. It uses fingerprint scanner to

monitor the attendance of occupants and visitors accurately. Only administrator

can open the attendance monitoring interface. This system also has an online
reservation wherein the inquirer can request for reservation and view the room

information, dormitory policy, dormitory fees, and payment process.

Description

Statement of Objectives

•To develop a system that will prevent student records from being misplaced.

•To develop a system with faster and efficient dormitory transactions.

•To develop a system that will record the student's attendance by using

fingerprint scanner

•To create a system that will coordinate all the students' records inside the dorm.

•To allow the occupants request and reserve a room online.

•To provide an updated record and real-time accessibility of data

Online Dormitory Reservation System

(Mothe, et al. 2015) The project is an Online Dormitory System which permits

clients to book their room within the dorm from any place; this can be an

automated system where the client can look at the accessibility of rooms within

the dorm. The search can be done based on the dates. The rooms that are

accessible come with the status accessible; it’ll show all the rooms accessible as

of that specific search date. Once the room has been booked the client can

cancel the reservation within 48 hours and there's the concept of client login. As

the user creates his own account with his/her mail id, he can log in into his

account. There’s an administrator login page for the administrator, who has the

control over the dorm system application. He/she can moreover audit the

commerce benefit and development. The proposed system reduces a lot of

exertion for students and the administrator of the dorm as well. The objective of

this application is to develop a web dorm system for Progressing Computer

program quality and Unwavering quality is valuable for applications created in an

organization. This system can be utilized for lessening issues of the student

against an application/module, doling out dorms to people and fathoming issues

of the student.

Database Management System

P. Clifford, R. Bhandari, 2015, A database system configures a storage model in

accordance with a hierarchical tree-like structure to enable fast and

comprehensive data extraction functions. A plurality of entities, attributes, and

entity occurrences are each assigned a unique, multi-character expression. The

expression has a predetermined hierarchical structure which defines the

relationship between each entity, attribute and entity occurrence with every other

entity, attribute, and entity occurrence. The expressions are stored in an

expression set table linking each element of each expression with a natural

language phrase or data definition. Events are recorded in an entity history table

each event having an associated expression. Data is extracted from the

database according to a multi-character query expression comprising characters

that are deterministic to the query and characters that are non-deterministic to

the query. Data extracted from the database is also filtered according to a

plurality of multi-character profile expressions each comprising characters that

are deterministic and characters that are nondeterministic and which together

define filtration criteria.

Local Literature and Studies

Automated belongings management inventory system

R. Calago, L. Marcelino, J. Palermo, 2012 The purpose of this study was

to help the company in their problems regarding their current system. The

researcher conducted a research interview. According to the research

conducted, all employees encountered problems with the current system they’re

using. Examples of these were the complexity of the system and erroneous

functions in the system. Most of them preferred to have an accurate and

dependable inventory system. The proponent’s system was based on the System

Requirements, the end-product of the conducted research.

Having an accurate, complete, and functional Inventory System in the business

meant security. Recording date that the system accepts, stores and produces.

provided the Administrator and Employees a good basis for decision making. The

proponent’s system suited the needs of the company.

Food Online Reservation System

Brigula, et. al, 2016 Geancy food Online Reservation System is an online

web-based system wherein clients can make catering reservations online. The

system can help the catering administration manage their transaction and

reservation and reservation processes and can be easily edited, delete, filter,

monitored, stored and secure of all the reservations records. The system will help

the administration in making their work easy , such as updating, adding a new
menu, and printing of records since all the files stored in the files will be stored in

the database. It is more secure in an automated online system, and it is more

reliable in processing reports and reports and records of the reservation than

using manual based. The system allows clients to check their reservations and

availability whenever they are online and can make catering reservations rights

away. Only the authorized personnel can access the system with the use of its

username and password for the security purposes.
