What is InTouch Compact
Edition?
► A functional subset of InTouch
▪ Is NOT full InTouch
▪ Designed to run standalone
▪ Has drivers built in – cannot add others

► Same Development Environment


▪ WindowMaker or Managed Application in IDE
▪ With ‘Compact Extensions’

► Uses Windows CE 5 or CE 6 as platform

What Are Its Limitations?
► Only supports 255 access Levels (access
levels > 255 reduced to 255)
► Only supports 2 levels of alarms

► Only supports 255 alarm priority levels
► Does not have all ‘$’ tags
► Does not support square root conversion
(linear only)
What Are Its Limitations?
► Historical alarms in pre-configured screen
(WW__Alarm)
► Historical trends in pre-configured screen
(WW__Trend)
► Some special characters used in tagnames
are not supported (!, @,-,?, #, $, %, \, and
&).
► Has limited number of drivers for each
application (dependant on tag size).
How To Create & Deploy
InTouch CE App
► 4 stage process
▪ Create application
▪ Validate Application (will create validation
report with errors)
▪ Publish application (converts to compiled
format)
▪ Download application

License Authentication Process
► Purchase Hardware
► Orders license(s)
► Order processed by Wonderware
▪ License certificate is generated
► License certificate shipped
▪ The certificate has a site ID and serial number(s)
► License activated through Wonderware site
▪ Standard web interface for license activation
▪ Key is generated, cut and paste into device
