WARNING
In the normal fluoroscopy mode, it is desirable that shooting X-ray for 5minutes continuously, and
5minutes break, and then 5minutes shooting, and 5minutes break again. In the radiography mode,
it is desirable that shooting X-ray 1 time, and 40seconds break, and then shooting 1 time, and
40seconds break again. In the boost mode, you don’t have to push the foot switch over 3seconds
per 1 shooting, because the X-ray exposes just for 3seconds per 1time shooting in the boost
mode. As above, it is desirable that shooting X-ray for 3seconds per 1time, and then 30seconds
break, and then 3seconds shooting, and then 30seconds break again in the boost mode.

WARNING
If the tube is overheated, thermal sensor attached to the exterior of it warns the system and ‘Tube
Limit’ sign will be displayed on the TFT screen. Then the machine can work again by the time the
tube gets cooled.

X-Ray GENERATOR

This procedure is the adjustment and check job within HFG Control Inverter Unit (KM9EEXT005)
and High Voltage Tank Unit (KM9MEEXT005-4) for X-RAY generation.

X-RAY specification of KMC-950 HFG (12kVA).

Min Max Step Unit
Tube Voltage 40 125 1 KV
Tube Current (Small) 0.5 5 0.1 mA
In Fluoroscopy (20 in Boost)
Tube Current (Large) 20 100(at120kV) 9 steps according to mA
In Radiography (at 120KV and 150(at 59KV) every 10KV steps
7.9mAs)
MAs in Radiography 0.4 500 32 steps or MAs
free select(APR mode)

There will be few cases in which the following checking and tuning of HFG unit is needed in the field. If you want to
check the details of HFG, you should uncover the back and left side cover of KMC-950 and then uncover the HFG
Inverter unit in the left side. Appropriate measurement devices, such as oscilloscope, DMM (Digital Multi Meter) etc.
are required to check the signals.

WARNING
- To avoid the electrical shock, you should be very careful in dealing the high voltage
connectors (Anode, Cathode) on tank and tube. Even after the main power is down, high
voltage charge still remains in tank and tube for about a few minutes.
- High voltage connectors should always be tightly fastened before the main power is
turned on.

mm) with respect to the center of the entrance field in the normal mode of operation.
Output screen spectral response
The output screen contains a P20 type phosphor with a peak wavelength between 520 and 540 nm and a
full width at half maximum of less than 100 nm.
Optical
The thickness of the output window is 3.6 ± 0.2 mm.
The index of refraction of the output window is 1.50 ± 0.02 at 587 nm
The distance of the image plane to the pilot plane will be everywhere within ± 30 µm from the value at
the
center of the image.
Rise and decay time
At an exposure rate of 5 mR/s in the normal mode the luminance of the output screen will be more than
50 % and more than 80 % of its final value respectively 1 ms and 10 ms after starting the exposure. After
a continuous exposure rate of 5 mR/s in the normal mode, the luminance of the output screen will be less
than 30 % and less than 10 % of its initial value respectively 1 ms and 10 ms after stopping the exposure.
Minimum pulse width (valid when used with THALES power supplies only) The minimum pulse width
per DSA pulse is typically 20 ms. The minimum pulse width per cine pulse is typically 2 ms.
Blanking mode
The output luminance of the image intensifier can be blanked to a level less than 5 % (typically 1 %)
with respect to the unblanked mode in all fields, by applying a blanking signal to the power supply unit.
The blanking time constant is less than 1 ms.

1.2.1 General description

The CCD sensor is a solid-state imaging device that produces a black and white image. Light
entering wells in the sensor are converted to electrons, which are read out from the sensor,
amplified and converted to a digital video signal. The digital video signal is transmitted camera link
cable cable to the image processing(pc) system.

1.2.2 Changing the camera

1.2.2.1 Removing the camera

Assembly and disassembly of the camera has to be done only at

power down.

Remove cover of the intensifier housing.

In order to remove the camera,
