your final answer. Submit using one file only.
About the concept, answer the following.

1. How each term differs from the other: work, energy and power?

When we say work, it is the transfer of energy it can only be done if there is an applied force. Next is
energy, it is the ability to do work. And last is power, it is the rate of doing work.

2. The two kinds of energy and define each.

The Potential and Kinetic energy. Potential energy, it is an energy possessed by the body by virtues of its
position. While the Kinetic energy, is the energy possessed also by the body bout by virtue of its motion.

3. What two basic energy cases can we apply the potential energy?

The two basic energy cases that we can apply the potential energy are the gravitational potential energy
and the elastic potential energy.

4. Give three units of work of different systems, specify the system.

MKS : Newton (N), Meter (m), Joule (J)

CGS : Dyne (Dyn), Centimeter (cm), Erg
FPS : Pound force (lbf), Feet (ft), Foot pound (ft-lb, or lb-ft)

5. What is the relationship between the work and potential energy?

When you are doing work against continuous resistive forces such as gravity or spring tension, work done
equals the change in potential energy of the object. And as work is done on an object, potential energy
can be stored in that object,

1. A girl pulled her luggage at an angle 35 with the level ground and walked 200ft.
What is the work done on the luggage if she applied 30 N force in Joules?

2. Three bags of cements are to be lifted to a height of 2500 cm. Each bag weighs 15 kg.

a. What is the potential energy of the three bags in Joules?

b. What is the amount of work to be done to lift the bags in Joules?
c. If its acceleration due to gravity is 20 ft/s, what is the kinetic energy in J, lb.- ft

3. Determine the power of a person 65 -kg person climbs up the stairs 12 m high in 5
2
minutes. Acceleration due to gravity (g) is 9.80 m/s .
4. What is the kinetic energy of the car that runs 120 mile/h if it weighs 1000 kg?
5. The spring elongated to 30 cm when a box is attached to it by an applied force from it
at equilibrium position
a. Calculate the potential energy of the spring mass system.
b. What is the work done by the spring force in this elongation?
c. Calculate the potential energy stored and the work done by the spring force during
compression. Assuming the spring is compressed to the same 25 cm, The spring constant, k =
0.2 N/m.
