CHAPTER.1.INTRODUCTION

1.1.DESIGN THINKING

Some people think design, one must be an artist. or that design comes as a flash of light into the minds of certain
privileged people.

1) Design is a process

Design is a creative process of thinking backwards from people, that leads to design of service, a product or
something else, based on the conclusions of the knowledge gathered in the process.

2) Design requires empathy

Effective designs shift the thinking from technology or objects to people

3)Design solutions are based on context

Effective design involve thinking about the context in which they will be used good design observes people in
context. it requires thinking

4) Design takes time

It's difficult to be creative on demand. considering that design involves iterative prototypes, you need to allow
time for solution to unfold.

5)Design can change society(and the world of learning)

Design thinking of every social program that changes lives and every business or service that delights its
customers. these were designed through hard thinking, feedback and iteration

4
1.2.IMPORTANCE AND SOCIO ECONOMIC RELEVANCE OF DESIGN THINKING

Design thinking is generally defined as an analytical and creative process that engages a person in opportunities
to experiment, creative and prototype models, gather feedback, and redesign. several characteristics that a good
design thinker should possess have been identified from the literature. the primary purpose of this article is to
summarize and synthesize the research on design thinking to a better understand its characteristics and processes
as well as the difference between novice and expert design thinking to our educational system the authors
overarching goal is to identify the features and characteristics of design thinking and discuss its importance in
promoting students problem students problem solving skill in the 21st century.

1.3IMPORTANCE OF TEAM BUILDING AND LOG BOOK EXERCISE

Overall, team building in the workplace enables better communication, better relationship and ultimately increases
productivity.

Here are a few reasons why team building is important in the workplace:

1) Facilities better communication:- Activities that create discussion enable open communication among
employees, and between employees and management.

2)Motivates employees:- team leadership and team building go hand in hand. The more comfortable your
employees are to express their ideas and opinions, the more confident they will become. This will motivate them
to take on new challenges.

3)Promotes creativity:- working together with other team members can ignore creativity and fresh ideas, which
are great to bring back to the office

4) Develops problem solving skills:- in public relations a crisis can happen at any time. Team building
activities that require co-workers to work together to solve problems can improve the ability to think rationally
and strategically. Teams that are able to determine when a problem arises and know that they can do about it, can
then effectively take charge when a real crisis occurs.

5) Breaks the barrier:- team building increases the trust factor with your employees. Team building activities
give leadership the opportunity to be seen as a colleague, which can do wonders for employee morale.

5
1.4.IMPORTANCE OF LOGBOOK

If we maintain the logbook it will be easy for us to note down day to day activities and weekly we can report to
our guide and what they say we can do correction according to their guidance by making the logbook it will be
easy for us to work on our domain.

CHAPTER.2 AEIOU CANVAS

Now to fill up the sheets was also as important as making the mind-map we'll both were connected internally that
sheets are completed with the help of the mind map.
The first sheet was the AEIOU SHEET as per name the sheets has the section named as environment, activities,
objects, interaction, users.
Well it has been mentioned about the all things above except users, which will continue next in all the sections
we had filled up the appropriate information such a way that anybody can understand well all the points in each
section has been explained above in brief here we have the snapshot of the sheet.

7
2.1.ACTIVITY:-

First of all we have to survey the whole system and have to collect the data for all the pending sheets. There are
some activities which we have performed.

➢ Building
➢ Walls
➢ Foundation
➢ Timber
➢ Furniture
➢ Ash blocks

2.2.ENVIRONMENT:-

For this sheet we observed the society and collect information about environment

➢ Plants
➢ Roads
➢ Architecture
➢ Forest
➢ Wood
➢ Industrial

2.3.INTERACTION:-

For this sheet we have to interact with society's secretary. So we interacted and gathered information.

➢ Builder
➢ Structure engineer

8
➢ Environmental engineer

2.4.OBJECTS:-

After collecting the information about the system we actually came to know which objects are being used in whole
building and harvesting system.

➢ Scrapper
➢ Saw
➢ Dryer
➢ Kiln
➢ Manufacturing machine

2.5.USER:-

Here is the information of all the users who are related with the system and others who are using eco-friendly
material.

➢ Structure engineer
➢ Site Engineer
➢ Environmental engineer
➢ General people
➢ Government institute

2.6.MIND MAPPING

After talking out the observation and all the knowledge about the system, our next major problem was make a
mind map and to sort out a problem or a topic on which we can study and could give us suggestions on the topic.
So we made mind map whose snapshot is Just below.

9
CHAPTER.3. EMPATHY MAPPING:-

10
3.1. NEED/IMPO
RETANTANCE OF ECOFRIENDLY BUILDING CONSTRUCTING MATERIAL

Climate change is ever increasingly in the news, with a recent agreement in Paris to reduce carbon emissions and
halt a rise in the global temperatures being made by world leaders. Part of the need for an ever growing world is
housing and buildings, historically this industry is a high emissions playground so the two things have never
really gone hand-in-hand. Eco-friendly construction is starting to become more common however, and is the
method of building a structure that is beneficial or, at minimum, non-harmful to the environment and world
resources (such as oil). Building in this manner makes use of local, renewable materials as well as minimising the
energy required to both build and live in it.

New environmentally friendly building methods ha

ve developed as a response to the knowledge that construction has often had a negative impact on our environment
and used a large amount of natural resource. The use of natural resource includes the manufacture and
transportation of materials – sometimes across continents – meaning huge amounts of oil are required. In fact, in
the UK the building industry equates to almost half of all oil use.

3.2. OBSERVATION
We started our observation on today’s people that are, building or reconstructing their houses choose to use eco-
friendly building materials. An eco-friendly building material is one that increases the efficiency of energy used
and reduces impact on human well-being and the environment. There are many different materials that can be
used that are eco-friendly; from foundation, to insulation, to interior and exterior wall finishes, flooring, and
countertop materials. Some Categorization of Materials Civil materials, Waterproofing and Chemical additives,
Wood work, Doors and windows ,Miscellaneous.

19
CHAPTER.8. CONCLUSION:-

Eco-friendly building gets a lot of hype, but there are also concrete advantages to "going green" when you build.
Green building alternatives can help you save time and impact on the environment. From improving indoor air
quality to mitigating global climate change, green buildings help people live a more resource-friendly and
sustainable lifestyle.

Eco-friendly material used very widely. It is most useful for reduce environmental impact, save time, protection
for health, reduce pollution.
