A parking slab 255mm thick is supported by 300x600mm beams with the following
characteristics:
Live load = 5KN/m2
Finishing slab: 1.0KN/m2; Cover = 25mm
Fcu = 25MPa; Fy = 450 MPa
Available reinforcement Y12 only.
Calculate the maximum reinforcement required to support the maximum moment in both
directions including the shear and deflection.

A 30 x 18 m slab is supported respectively by 250 x 600 mm and 250 x 500 mm beams on top
of 250 x 400 mm columns as shown below. Design the panel A of the slab as per SANS 10100,
(Flexure, shear and deflection).
Design characteristics given as follows:
Finishes = 1 kN/m2.
Fcu = 25 MPa; Fy = 450 MPa
Live Load = 5 kN/m2
Available reinforcement Y12 only.
