A fully-funded doctoral position is available in the computer science program at Ontario Tech University,

Oshawa, Ontario, Canada. The successful applicant will closely work under co-supervision of Dr. Salma
Karray and Dr. Amirali Abari at the faculty of Business and IT. The position has a focus on the
intersection of artificial intelligence and marketing with applications to advertising. The position comes
with SSHRC and teaching assistantship funding for 4 years.

In addition to minimum requirements for Ph.D. admission, candidates are expected to obtain an MSc in
computer science, operational research, business analytics, applied mathematics, or a related field by
the start time of the position. Candidates must have strong background in machine learning, statistics,
mathematics, and programming. Candidates should be enthusiastic about learning new methods and
applying their expertise in innovative ways. Prior experience in interdisciplinary research and solving
problems arising from industrial applications will be an advantage.

The position starts from either January 1st 2020 or September 1st 2010 (based on mutual agreement).

Faculty of Business and IT (FBIT)
