Based on the vacant seats available for branch change, applications were invited from
the students. A provisional exercise for the branch change process was carried out and
a tentative/provisional list was displayed.
As per the provisional list, comments of the students were invited where they will be
opting for the allotted branch or not. Some of the students have mentioned that they
have inadvertently filled their choices and they do not want to change their branch. This
will have effect on other students’ branch change who are next to such students in order
of merit.
Some requests have also been received from the students that they have filled their
option in wrong category. The allotment of seats will be carried out in that category
where they have been admitted. (For example if a General-EWS category student has
been admitted in the general category, then he/she will be allotted the seat in the
general category on the basis of his/her merit/performance.
In the meantime, 01 seat for general category in ECE branch and 01 seat in general
category of IPE branch have been vacated. For the benefit of the students, these seats
will be included in the branch change process.
Students who have earlier applied for change of branch are again given a chance to
change the options keeping in view the above two vacant seats and options be given in
that category where they have been admitted at the time of admission.
The options now given by the students will be final. Those students who are not
interested to change their branches can quit his/her name from the options.
Last Date for Change of options will be 12.09.2020 till 23:59:59
The new seats allotted to the students against the options given will be finalized after
Online session/meeting through google meet on 15.09.2020 at 11.00 am. All the
students who want to change the branch can join in the online session on 15.09.2020 at
11.00 am sharp through their official email id. During the online interaction, the students
will be asked to accept or reject their allotted branch and they will be required to submit
their consent through official email immediately at ashar@nitj.ac.in. No further chance
shall be provided if they will not respond.
