Assessment:
1. What do you think the most important contributions of contemporary art as a period and the
numerous movements under it in the lives of men today?
It allows individuals a means of personal expression. Through painting, sculpture and
performance art, anyone can express themselves in a way that will be safely observable for
others. Contemporary arts allows the artists to make commentary on the culture around them.

2. Out of all the movements mentioned and discussed, what do you think are no longer relevant
nowadays?
None, for me when you say no longer relevant it isn’t part of what people are thinking or
talking about, it does not interest them anymore. But I do believe that art in any movement or
form is always and will remain to be relevant, especially to the people no matter what period or
era they are in. Why? Simple, because we are all different. Another thing is art is art, it is rooted
deep within us.
