1. This talk was presented by Regina Hartley, a Human resources expert.

2. The speaker's credentials are a BA in political science from SUNY

Binghamton, an MA in corporate and organizational communication from
Fairleigh Dickinson University, and a certified Senior Professional in Human
Resources (SPHR) from the HRCI.

3. The main topic of this TED talk is about properties of two types of the
applicant which are the one who has a perfect resume and the one who doesn’t,
also explain the reason to employs the scrapper.

4. Hartley's presentation is distinctively beneficial and informative for the

recruiter because it gives the recruiter a different aspect of looking at the
Scapper. Moreover, this talk also motivated people who are trying to apply for
a job or building their resume.

5. There are two types of the applicant, the Silver spoon prefer to people who
had advantages and aimed for success, the others are the Scrapper prefer to
someone who had to fight against many difficulties to get to the same
destination as the Silver spoon. The main difference of these two types of the
applicant is the background and the passion. While the Silver spoon got a
perfect resume and graduated from a famous university, the Scrapper had the
sentiment and will to overcome any challenges.

6. According to Hartley had described scrappers people who had to fight

against tremendous difficulties such as poverty, suffer loss from parents, and so
on, which built them become tough fighters who not easy to give up on any
obstacles. So this will be the type of employees that any company needed. She
had also pointed out the figure from some research about successful and
diverse companies that usually employ and support scrappers. For an instant, a
study of DiversityInc, show that diversity companies outperform their peer by
25 percent of the S&P 500.

7. Thevideo above gave me lots of information and a different look at building

my resume. Since it was not just about the perfect GPA or graduated from a
well-known University, instead it stayed that we also need to mention the
experiences, the difficulties that once had been through and grow through. One
obvious truth is that there are hundred and thousand of articles giving tips and
ways to write a perfect, irresistible resume, or others might try to teach you
how to write a resume that stands out from the crowd. Most of the time, it was
hard for the applicant to follow those instructions and write their own. In
addition, most of those tips were all about showing the recruiter what perfect
score you had earned, what scholarships you had achieved, and so on. Hence, it
guides the applicant to build something perfect rather than tell the journey that
they have been growing. However, it was understandable since many HR
recruiters today usually selected the Silver spoon. Therefore, many people
choose to write a perfect resume in other to make an impression on employers.
But after watching this video, I had a different perspective at building my
resume and a broader thought for scrappers.
