Bogotá: The busiest and most culturally diverse city in Latin America.

Imagine a businessman riding a bicycle in the middle of a sea of cars. Do you know
what? You’ve just imagined a regular day in Bogotá D.C. Apart from the heavy traffic
and the irritating pollution, Bogotá is a very charming and beautiful city, filled to the
brim with amazing landscapes and personality. All around, Bogota is arguably the
largest and most important city of Colombia, in its center, it has an outstanding range of
museums and historical architecture just mere meters away from Plaza de Bolivar, the
city’s postcard.

Bogota has a healthy and ever-growing political, economic and socio-cultural

environment, as you walk through its streets, you can not help but notice the incredible
amount of commerce, there are shops and restaurants and people making a living
everywhere. There are many socio-cultural gatherings, where people from different
races and cultures can live enjoying their particularities without many repercussions,
culture is for everyone and everyone should know it. Also, Bogota has many green
spots, some people name then parks, everywhere you go you can find people taking
their pets on walks through green areas, avoiding much of the city’s pollution.

Bogota has a very good public health system, as well as a very good sanitation program,
some places might not be as clean as others, and that’s a problem that should be
addressed in the future. Bogota has some of the best schools and education institutions
in Latin America, as well as a top notch education system, public education is getting
there but not quite yet. The holy grail of Bogotá is its public transportation system,
called Transmilenio, with stations flowing through every single one of its most
important places and locations, by boarding a Transmilenio you can embark on a
journey, from the outskirts of Chía to the city of Soacha, it is incredibly useful and well
thought.

Speaking of recreation, Bogota has hundreds, if not thousands of ways to have fun, you
jump up and down on trampoline park summit, or you could make a bicycle ride
through the city, you can play basketball or football on many of its parks, or you could
simply go to La Colina Shopping Center and fight off some ñeros. Bogota has many
famous restaurants, you could go and eat the best meat of your life in Republik
restaurant, or you could have an amazing gastronomical engineering journey through
the menu of El Cielo, any way you look at it, Bogotá has its own ways of surprising
you.

Bogota has quite a pricey housing experience, but as well as some little tits and tats of
pollution and overall strangeness, the Bogota experience is worth it. Living in Bogotá is
unforgettable and a very fun experience, like any other city Bogotá has its ups and
downs, but the cultural and welcoming environment makes up for it. Bogotá is special
in its own ways, but before embarking on a new journey, don’t forget to eat an delicious
ceviche and give them ñeros what they deserve.
