Career Options Directory
DIRECTIONS
In planning your career, you may tend to think of the next move only as moving up. But up is not the
only way to move. Up is only one of your options for making the most of your skills and maximizing
your effectiveness.

The Career Leverage Inventory is designed to help you examine all your options – for the more options
you have, the more leverage you have for your career. And when your leverage increases you are in a
more powerful position.

Each of the following statements needs to be considered as it applies to your current job. Rate each statement
by circling the number that indicates how true the statement is for you (5 means most true, 0 means not
applicable). As you rate the statements, remember there are no “right” answers. Your rating will be as
individual as your job, your skills, and your self. Your ratings will help you decide what directions to
consider in setting your career goals.
