About Signs
Progressives may require overhead and in-machine displays to convey the current progressive meter
values and jackpot hits to the patrons on a casino floor. To support this, the BLL product has incorporated
a Signage functionality which is implemented in ECCS. The application interface communicates with
CoolSign and Paltronics Sign to display progressives data.
Sign devices are configured from the BLL application. Once configured, these devices get periodic updates
of standard progressive values. The sign devices can be configured to display jackpot hit messages,

winning amount, and reset amount. They also play the jackpot celebration themes for cabinet-paid
jackpots. For handpay jackpots, the jackpot celebration is played until the attendant key is turned.
Sign device represents the physical device which connects to one or more signs. This device will be
identified with a sign ID, and will be assigned one or more meter groups.

Configuring Signs
The CoolSign devices are supported by sending progressive data to the Casino Equipment Interface (CEI).
The user may add one or more CoolSign devices.
Depending on the business needs, there are multiple ways of configuring signs. The user may configure all
the CoolSign devices to display the same, common content that is configured from a server. Alternatively,
the user may configure the signs to display discrete content based on the bank of cabinet.
The default screen under Configuration > CoolSign (CEI) menu displays the available sign devices. The
users are allowed to add, view, edit, and remove the sign devices. This screen provides options to perform
the following:
• Add a Sign Device
• Edit a Sign Device
• View a Sign Device
• Remove a Sign Device
Refer to the subsequent sections in this chapter for detailed information on the above options.

NOTE: The user is restricted to add only one CoolSign device to the BLL controller. The
user can add multiple nodes for a CoolSign device using multiple ports.
