CALATRAVA SENIOR HIGH SCHOOL - STAND ALONE

REVISED INTERIM GUIDELINES FOR THE DISTRIBUTION OF SLMs

(Proposal)

Calatrava Senior High School - Stand Alone has successfully subsisted the first quarter of
continuing education amidst pandemic in the S.Y. 2020 – 2021. Through the extensive and
religious efforts of the administrators, faculty, and staffs, the schools’ operation went well and
ended smoothly.

In the first semester of S.Y. 2020 – 2021, Calatrava Senior High School - Stand Alone
(CSHS-SA) opted to deliver printed modules to the nearest local barangays relative to students’
residences. Not all but only a number of barangays were selected as focal locations for the
distribution of modules and its retrieval. Selection was based on remoteness (accessibility and
distance), number of residing enrollees and the capability of teachers in reaching the vicinity
(availability of transportation and tight security) which was done right after the principals and
groups of teachers went to the field to do barangay linkage for information dissemination and
coordination. In this stage, processes are quite flawless.

However, on the actual days and efforts of weekly barangay distribution, challenges
transpired. There are barangays who failed to show support by not having staffs to supposedly
assist teachers on field, parents and students who did not come on time delaying the schedule of
travels, advisers who failed to know, clarify and rectify the delivery spot of their students’ modules,
subject teachers who failed to hand modules to respective advisers on time and teachers in sorting
committee who are more spending time in school adjusting, waiting and going home later than the
others. These happened every week and had been dealt with flexibility, professionalism and
silence; all for the continuity of learning and pursuance of module delivery for community’s
convenience. Moreover, there is also danger for the groups of teachers who are new to assigned
places and to whom who rides in motorcycles whenever the weather is gloomy and wet. These
implicates the need for improvement to further have a successful outcome and harmonious
preparation.

The committee on module distribution and retrieval would like to suggest an alternative in
order to improve the distribution and retrieval of modules. The committee would like to try an
all-in school-based module-related activities wherein all activities such as sorting, releasing and
retrieval of modules will be done in school. With this, teachers will be all at ease and safe in their
working environment and the community will revert on going back to school for learning-related
purposes but only on a once-a-week manner.
Implementing Guidelines on the Delivery of SLMs

The distribution and retrieval committee would like to suggest the following processes:

Distribution:
1. Teachers must complete the preparation and reproduction of modules on their assigned
subject loads on the set schedule; EVERY WEDNESDAY.
a. Finishing the preparation and reproduction of modules ahead of time or on
schedule prevents delays and troubles such as advisers’ prolonged time of
waiting or students having an incomplete set of weekly modules.
2. Subject teachers must weekly provide advisers with a number of modules
corresponding to number of students per class; EVERY THURSDAY.
a. This will ensure that no advisers will initiatively reproduce for lack modules
3. Advisers must weekly sort and release set of modules to every student.
a. Ensure that each student has 2 envelopes for continuous release and retrieval.
b. Prepare log sheets for their own advisory class
c. Release and retrieve set of weekly modules; EVERY FRIDAY.
4. Parents/ guardians/ representatives/ students of legal age must claim their set of
modules in school; EVERY FRIDAY.
a. Names of students per class will be divided into 2 batches, for morning and
afternoon, to impose 50% population as a preventive measure for COVID-19
and its new strain.
b. They will visit the school once a week to receive envelope containing modules.
c. Prior to module-related transaction, parents/ guardians/ representatives/
students of legal age will undergo disinfection
d. Upon receiving envelopes, parents/ guardians/ representatives/ students of legal
age must sign on log sheets as attendance.

Significance:

With this procedure, the following will be benefitted:

1. Teachers in sorting committee will be at ease like other teachers whose personal schedule
are more on reproduction, sorting and checking.
2. Teachers will be in school most of the time where safety from travels will be ensured.
3. Distribution and retrieval will be less affected in moments of heavy rain, typhoon and
COVID-19 outbreak since alternative and contingency plans will be easily applied and
teachers are at schools available and are ready to release and retrieve modules.
4. Teachers will be protected from unforeseen outbreaks in the field where location setting is
always needs precautionary measures from clustering of people.
5. It is more cost effective
