Load Crucial Information
No load must be lifted without the following crucial information :
 the load weight
 the overall dimensions (length, width and depth).
 indication of the position of centre of gravity.
 the lifting/slinging points
 the pickup radius
 the final location radius
 the height to which the load has to be lifted.
 the overall weight (load + all lifting accessories)

Lifting Supervisor
Roles and Responsibilities :
 Coordinating and supervising all lifting
activities in accordance with the Lifting Plan.
 Briefing all lifting team members before start operation. Briefing include :
 Lifting Plan
 Risk Assessment
 Safe Lifting Procedure
 Ensure only registered crane operators, appointed riggers and signalmen
participate in any lifting operation.
 Ensure ground conditions are safe to perform especially mobile crane
 Be present for all lifting operations
 Monitor equipment maintenance and inspection
 If unsafe conditions are reported to him, he must take suitable measures

Crane Operator
Roles and Responsibilities :
 Be responsible for all the lifts carried out by him
 Perform crane inspection prior lifting
 Record operation log
 Ensure cranes are properly set up before lifting operation commences
 To adhere to instructions given by Lifting Supervisor
 Check and ensure that the load is correctly secured, rigged and sling
before lifting
 Check the clearance of the path to be taken by the load and any part
of the crane
 Report any accident/incident/dangerous occurrence and unsafe
act/conditions

Riggers and Signalmen
Roles and Responsibilities :
 Not attempt any lifting operation without prior
training /assessment, guidance and
appropriate supervision or which beyond the
level of their competency.
 Ensure both routine and complex lifting
operations are not undertaken without
suitable and sufficient risk assessment carried
out by competence person
 Ensure they fully understand the proposed
lifting operations they had been authorised to
do and that safe systems of work, training,
guidance and advise are followed at all times.

Riggers and Signalmen
Roles and Responsibilities :

 Carry out pre-use checks of lifting equipment,


to ensure equipment is in good working
condition
 Report any damages to the equipment or any
accident/incident/dangerous occurrence and
unsafe act/conditions to the Lifting Supervisor
as soon as is reasonably practicable
 Ensure cranes are properly set up before
lifting operation commences
