Tutorial 03: Projection of Lines

Each symbol in this question paper represents its usual notation

1. Two nails fixed on the wall are 4.5 meters apart. The distance between nails measured
parallel to the floor is 3.6 meters
meters. If one nail is 1.5 meters above the floor, find the height of
the second nail andnd inclination of the line joining the two nails with the floor (use suitable
scale to draw the projections).

2. A line AB, 75 mm long, is inclined at 45o to the HP and 30o to the VP.. Its end B is in the
HP and 40 mm in front of the VP.. Draw its projections and determine its traces.

3. Draw the projections of a line AB, 90 mm long, its mid-point M being 50 mm above the
HP and 40 mm in front of the VP . The end A is 20 mm above the HP and 10 mm in front
of the VP. Show the traces and the inclinations of the line with the HP and the VP.

4. The distance between end projectors of a line AB are 60 mm apart, while the projectors
passing from HT (horizontal trace) and VT (vertical trace) are 90 mm apart. The HT is 35
mm behind the VP, the VT is 55 mm below the HP. The point A is 7 mm behind the VP.
Find graphically true length of the line and inclination with the HP and VP.

5. A room is 4.8 x 4.2 x 3.6 (L x B x H; dimensions are in meters). Determine graphically the
distancee between the top corner and bottom corner diagonally opposite to it.
