The paddlefish “reward” hats are in the mail

GLASGOW – Anglers that harvested
a paddlefish in 2021 on the Upper
Missouri River or Dredge Cuts below
Fort Peck dam and gave all necessary
harvest information, along with a jaw
sample, will be receiving a “reward” hat
soon. As in previous years, harvested
paddlefish are required to be reported
within 48 hours.
“Hats will be mailed out this week,”
said FWP administrative assistant
Heather Dulaney, who is spear-heading
the mailing project.
Only anglers that reported their
harvested paddlefish, providing all the
following information, will receive a hat:
• angler tag number (make sure to write-
down all numbers!)
• jaw tag number (if present)
• length (eye to tail fork)
• sex
• date of harvest
• a dentary jaw sample (this is voluntary,
but necessary to receive a hat)
