CHAPTER 4- METHODS AND PROCEDURE

This chapter discusses the research strategy and procedures on how the system flows and
its phases. Development method was used to produce the proposed system. The researchers
used the system development life cycle (SDLC) as a tool, model and structured approach to
information system development that guides all the processes involved from all its initial study to
maintain is finished application.

The model of the system development process is divided into several phases . Basic
phases of system development processes are research design, system analysis, locale of the
study, instrumentation, data gathering procedure, and data analysis.

The researchers primarily used this method of research to fully expand and understand the
flow of data gathered, issues concerning the status of the existing system and how to improve it.
The proposed Barangay San Isidro Information System was conducted to design and implement
efficient and secured new system to be designed and to be used

RESEARCH DESIGN

The proponents created a concept for a system that will meet the needs of the Barangay at
the location. The supporters have decided to add a better quality of system providing Barangay
Records - Barangay Citizen Profiles - Barangay Employees Procedures, Guidelines and Services
of Barangay.

When the design and functionality of the system have been decided, the programmer
begins working on it.

RESEARCH PARTICIPANTS

In conducting this study, the participants of this study are the whole population of Barangay
San Isidro, Diffun, Quirino are consisting of barangay citizens and barangay officials. The system
has a different function on the system of the two group participants that is stated.

The respondents are about 20 barangay citizens and 15 barangay citizens that answered
our questionnaire through Stratified random sampling basing on their age.

LOCALE OF THE STUDY

Through the development of many cities in Isabela, the researchers selected Barangay
San Isidro, Diffun, Quirino because of our goal to promote our own place and to improve the
quality of daily living in a rural area.

INSTRUMENTATION
Questionnaires are the most frequently used data collection method in educational and
evaluation research. Questionnaires help gather information on knowledge, attitudes, opinions,
behaviors, facts, and other information. Validity is the extent to which an instrument measures
what it is supposed to measure and performs as it is designed to perform.

The quality assessment of the system was based in ISO 25010 International Quality
Standards. The survey instrument is considered valid since it is pre-validated by the above-
mentioned organization prior to its use and implementation

DATA GATHERING PROCEDURE

Pandemic has affected many lives especially going outside to physically meet people with
their needs that’s why we decided to use a flexible way of gathering data through online
questionnaire and limited persons to be interviewed.
