c) MANPOWER REQUIREMENT: The total manpower for this project will be 125persons.

6. COST DETAILS

Capital Cost of the Project: Rs. 50 Lacs

Cost for Environment Protection for the Project:
• Capital cost - Rs. 40 Lacs
• Recurring cost- Rs. 10 Lacs

7. POWER GENERATION DETAILS

Captive Thermal Power Plant

Process of Power Generation is given below:
Burning of the coal in the boiler & utilization of the resultant heat to heat the water & convert it into
steam.

M/s. UltraTech Cement Limited

(Unit: Bela Cement Works) 2
BRIEF SUMMARY

Feeding of the generated steam in boiler at required parameters to the turbine through the control
valve.

In turbine the thermal energy of steam is utilized to rotate it. The turbine in turn rotates an alternator
(electric generator). The generated electricity is evacuated from the alternator through the bus bar
arrangement.

8. ENVIRONMENTAL MANAGEMENT PLAN

The major sources of pollution are particulate matter, SO2 and NOx from the proposed expansion projectof
Captive Thermal Power Plant. Pollution levels is being/ will be reduced by installation of ESP, bag filters etc.
Covered shed is being/ will be constructed for storage of coal and silos are being/ will be constructed for fly
ash and bed ash storage. Air cooled condenser is being/will be used. No waste water is being/ will be
discharged from the Captive Thermal power plant. Domestic effluent is being/ will be treated in STP. Rain
water harvesting are being/ will be practiced to recharge ground water. Bed ash and fly ash generated
from the power plant is being/ will be used in Cement Plant for cement manufacturing process. Total 2
KL/Annum (approx.) used oil is being/ will be generated from plant machineries as hazardous waste which
are being/ will be sold to CPCB registered recycler. For noise pollution control, turbine and compressors
are being/ will be installed in closed building and adequate silencers are being/ will be provided in all the
steam exhaust. About 1.41 ha .i.e.33% of the total project area will be developed under Greenbelt /
plantation area.Local plant species i.e. Acacia, Amla, Imli, Bargad, Peepa, Ashok, Cassia, Kachnar, Mango,
Neem, Seesam etc. are being/ will be planted in consultation with Horticulture Department.
