SUBJECT: VHP Camshaft Appearance

MODELS AFFECTED: All VHP

The purpose of this bulletin is to mitigate any concern
related to variability in VHP camshaft appearance.
New camshafts may exhibit different finishes on the
shaft or lobes. The shaft area between camshaft lobes
may exhibit a bright (Figure 1), green (Figure 2) or
black finish (Figure 3). In addition, the camshaft lobes
may exhibit a bright or shiny finish (Figure 1, 2, and 3)
or a dull finish (Figure 4). None of these finish
combinations affect the camshaft performance or
durability. All new camshafts are equivalent and meet
the quality standards established by Waukesha gas
engines.
