The Principle of Emptiness

A Presentation by Rajiv Bajaj

Have you got the habit of hoarding useless objects, thinking
that one day, who knows when, you may need them?
Have you got
the habit of
accumulating
money and not
spending it …
… because you think that in the
future you may be in want of it?
Have you got the habit of storing clothes, shoes, furniture,
utensils and other home supplies …
… that you have never used at all, or you haven’t used for a
long time now?
And inside
yourself… Have
you got the habit
of holding on to
reproaches,
resentment…
… hatred,
grudges, regrets,
sadness, fears,
worries and
more?
Don’t do it! You are going against your prosperity!
It is necessary to make
room, to leave an
empty space in order
to allow new things to
arrive in our lives.
It is necessary that we get rid of
all the useless things that are in
us and in our lives…
… in order to pave way for prosperity to arrive.
The force of this emptiness…
… is the one that will absorb and attract all that we
wish for.
As long as we are - materially or emotionally -
holding on to old, outdated and useless things …
… feelings, ideas, concepts,
notions, opinions and
ideologies…
… we won’t have
room for new
opportunities.
Goods must circulate…
Clean your drawers,
the wardrobes, the
workshop, the
garage…
Give away to the needy what you have never
used or you don’t use any longer…
The habit of keeping a heap of useless stuff…
… ties our lives down.
It’s not the objects
we keep that
stagnate our lives…
…but rather the habit
of holding on.
When we keep in
store, we consider the
possibility of want, of
penury…
We believe that
tomorrow we may lack
in those things and
that we won’t be able
to fulfil those
necessities…
…although they have been lying there for years together and
we have never used them.
With that idea, we are
sending two messages to
our brain and to our lives…
That we don’t trust in tomorrow..
and we think that the new and the better are not for us.
For this reason, we cheer ourselves
up by storing old and useless stuff.
Remember:
Whatever is destined not
to happen will not
happen, try as you may.
Whatever is destined to
happen will happen, do
what you may to prevent it.
This is certain.
The best course, therefore, is
to take life as it comes…
and enjoy the present
moment.
Get rid of
what lost its
colour and
brightness…
And let the new enter your home… and yourself.
May prosperity and peace reach you soon.
