Current and Voltage measurement
Objective:
1. This experiment helps us to know about the elements like resistance,
digital multimeter, breadboard, dc power supply etc.
2. To learn how to measure current, voltage and resistance by using measuring instruments such
as digital multimeter.
3. Use of dc power supply.
4. We have learned about the breadboard that how to connect wires.

Equipment: The equipment here used is a digital multimeter register breadboard and DC power
supply
Digital multimeter: A multimeter is an estimating instrument that can quantify various electrical
properties. A regular multimeter can quantify voltage, obstruction, and current, in which case it
is otherwise called a volt-ohm-milliammeter (VOM). Simple multimeters utilize a microammeter
with a moving pointer to show readings.
Breadboard: A breadboard is a simple device designed to let make circuits without the
requirement for fastening.

Power supply: A DC-DC power supply converts direct current coming from the power source (a
battery) from one voltage level to another depending on the point-in-time needs of the device
being supplied. DC is the preferred type of power for electronic devices.
Resistor: Resistor is an electrical component that reduces the electric current. The fixed resistor
type is the most common resistor.
Set up of all equipment:
Theory:
We are going to measure the current and voltage on Tinkercad. For measuring this we use here a
Digital multimeter, dc power supply, a breadboard and a resistor. We connect all the equipment
how we learn to connect by our instructor.

Procedure:
 We will take a multimeter, a dc power supply, a resistor and bread board from Tinkercad
search option.
 We will connect the positive terminal of the power supply and multimeter on the positive
terminal of the breadboard and do the opposite for the negative terminal.
 We will set value before starting the stimulation.
 We will start measuring the value observe and put the value on data table.
Data Table:
Table 1 Measuring voltage and current (R-1Ω)

Discussion: This is our very first basic lab to measure voltage and current. First, we learn how to
build circuit on Tinkercad. In Tinkercad on the right of the top there is option for take any
equipment’s it is very easy. We learn from our instructor that we can measure voltage and
current through multimeter. We can take any fixed resistor to measure, or we can measure
without the resistor also. We learn the use of dc power supply how to set up the value of current
and voltage. How to turn it off and on. We also learn the use of breadboard. How to connect wire
in a breadboard. Before giving any value to power supply and before connecting wire we have
make sure that the stimulation is turn off otherwise we can get wrong value in Tinkercad. We
also learn that if we connect all these equipment all together then we must have to on the power
supply without on the power supply we cannot measure voltage or current because without any
power source we cannot be able to measure anything. We also learn that in breadboard how to
connect the wire with its positive term and negative term. Suppose if we add positive term of the
power supply to the negative and negative to the positive in the bread board then we will get
wrong output. Our instructor helps us to learn Tinker cad and how to perform all these things on
Tinkercad easily.

Precautions:
 First, need a working net connection because we are performing this lab in online.
 We must make sure all the wire connected on the proper away like positive terminal with
the positive and negative with the negative.
 Must give value of current or voltage before starting the stimulation.
