Welcome to the
One Health
Hackathon!

We’re so excited to welcome you to the One
Health Hackathon!

From July 22nd to 24th, nearly 300 students from


across 30 countries will come together to learn
about global health and stop tomorrow's
pandemics.

In this brief guidebook, we' ll go over how the


hackathon will work and introduce you to the
amazing mentors you’ll be working with!

1.Project Guidelines

You will create an action


plan to address your disease.
This can include:
Policy platforms
Tech prototypes
Business pitches
Anything else you wan t!

The only requirement is that you use the


principles of One Health : addressing animal,
human, and environmental health together .

If you are unfamiliar with One Health, we

Final Projects:
Each team will have 7 minutes to
present their action plan in the form of a
slideshow .
If your project has an additional
component like a website/app prototype,
you are welcome to present it as well.
Projects will be submitted as videos for
judging.

3.Preparation
We encourage you to do some research on your
assigned disease befor e the hacka thon: look at the
existing measures that have worked, and think about
how you might incorpor ate the m into you r pr oj e ct.

Each track has several One Health factors that


you could address in your projects. Here are some
suggested topics:

Zika Virus - Climate Change


Nipah Virus - Deforestation
Influenza - Livestock
Rabies - Wildlife Regulation
Cholera - Sanitation

starting point for your research.
