MIN 1/30.7.2020: AREAS FOR PARTNERSHIP BETWEEN MNW AND KIZINGO

RESIDENT ASSOCIATION

Kizingo Residents Association officials met with Chairman and Secretary of Mama Ngina
Waterfront Management Board to discuss a proposal the officials had forwarded earlier
to the Board through its Secretary.

(a) Introduce use of paper bags instead of plastic bags currently used by traders.

The chair tasked Kizingo Residents Association officials to scout for appropriate
paper bags which are environmentally friendly and with good pricing to be
presented to the traders.

(b) Installation of fire extinguishers at the stalls area.

The Association representatives suggested that fire extinguishers should be

installed at strategic places around the stalls.

(c) Tending of grass/weeds along fence between MNW and Mombasa Golf Club.

The meeting agreed that though Mama Ngina Waterfront Project had put up the
fence to give the area a face lift, it was suggested that Mombasa Golf Club should

(d) Cycling at Mama Ngina Waterfront

Kizingo R. A. officials suggested that a MNW cycling club be formed where the
members pay subscription fee which would go to MNW as revenue. The chairman
proposed that the Association should come up with an arrangement where an
entry access card will be used by the cyclists after approval from the Board.

He also suggested the introduction of a members cycling timetable as well as use

of golf carts for movement within MNW by visitors in the long term.

(e) Fun-fair and conferences

The chairman requested Kizingo Resident Association to develop a proper fun-fair

area layout/design for MNW and send proposals to the Board for consideration.

He also gave permission to the Association to market MNW as a conference

centre.

(f) Formation of a MNW development working group

The chairman suggested that a development working group be formed made up
