2. Course description
CENID's Level 6 of English consists of 90 academic hours. These are distributed in 6 hours per week
during 15 weeks of classes. In order for students to be able to begin this level they must have passed
Level 5 as a requirement. The beginning of classes will be established according to the calendar of
activities planned by CENID. Level 6 is divided into two parts (first and second) in which participants
must complete the activities previously assigned. These activities include active participation in online
classes, regular questionnaires, projects based on production skills (writing or speaking), a portfolio that
gathers evidence of the activities carried out in the module; finally, written and oral evaluations. All
these tasks will be carried out mainly in Moodle, Google Meet and other platforms that teachers may
consider successful in achieving the proposed learning objectives.

CENID's Level 6 English is aligned with the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages
(CEFR), in which participants are considered as pre-intermediate users, capable of: understanding,
elaborating and communicating standard notions both in the personal and professional field, that
includes in this module, handling topics such as Expressing opinions using the appropriate verb tenses,
talking about facts, truths, future and imaginary events using oral and written conditionals, use of modal
verbs to give suggestions, use of compound verbs and the use of indirect speech. You will also be able to
understand the main ideas of a reading, detect the meaning of vocabulary in context, produce simple
and coherent text on topics that are familiar to you or of interest to you, and describe experiences and
events and express your opinion.

3. Objective of the subject:


 Understand the structure of conditional sentences
 Identify real situations and facts through the use of conditionals
 Identify a situation with a probability of occurrence in the future by using conditionals
 Identify an imaginary or unlikely situation of occurrence prior to use of conditionals
 Identify the parts of a compound verb and the impact of the preposition on the meaning of the
verb
 Understand the use of modal verbs, "if" condition clause and imperative to give suggestions
 Know the structure of a work application and express it in writing
 Understand and use modal verbs in the past tense to express possibility or desires not achieved
in the past
 Understand and use expressions with the verb "to be" to express ability, probability and
obligation
 Identify situations where passive voice is used to express the results of an action
 Understand and use expressions with comparatives and superlatives
 Identify the differences between direct and indirect speech to quote words or phrases said by
others.

from it.

5. Learning Results of the Subject:


1. Ability to use zero and first conditional to express real situations, truths, future situations, and
appropriately handle verb tenses (present and future) according to the situation or presented
scenario
2. Ability to recognize imaginary situations and use the second conditional in their oral and written
expression. They will also be able to intuitively recognize the meaning of words in context and
will be able to write a job application letter, based on its correct structure.
3. Learn about the use of modal verbs in the past. They will learn about sustainable agriculture.
They will explore new vocabulary related to finance.
4. Ability to make comparisons between cities, using comparative and superlative expressions,
expressing criteria on important topics related to festivities. Ability to use the passive voice in
several tenses
5. Ability to use new vocabulary related to tourism and globalization for a better understanding of
these topics. In addition, they will be able to identify and use indirect speech.

actividades de evaluación no podrá ser mayor al 35% del valor del cómputo final de la asignatura.

9.-‐ General and ethical behavior


 It is considered late to arrive with up to 10 minutes after the established time; after
this period constitutes a lack.
 The development of works indicated by the teacher and corresponding to the self-‐
study activities, must be submitted on the established date, without the possibility of a
second-‐chance delivery.
 Under no circumstances, neither the teacher nor the students, can change the
schedules, abandon the classes and terminate them early, otherwise sanction
teachers and students.
 The teacher will review the papers sent to the students and will deliver the grades.
Once the students have returned homework, tests, projects, etc., there is only a
period of 8 calendar days for any type of correction or requalification, after this date
the note cannot be modified.
 The use of cell phones is prohibited during school hours, both for the teacher and
for students. In case of emergency, the student will request authorization from the
teacher for their use outside the classroom.

 If a plagiarism is evidenced, it could be a reason for separation of the course of
those involved.
 Clothing must recognize morals.
 Inopportune visits: even the immediate superior authority must present a plan and /
or private meeting outside of classes to inform events, activities or other, which
requires the departure and absence of the student (s), others.
