Matthew Adams (born 26 September 1988) is an Australian professional

wrestler. He is best known for his time with WWE, where he performed under
the ring name Buddy Murphy (later simply Murphy).
Prior to joining WWE, Adams wrestled primarily in his native Australia, under the
ring name Matt Silva, appearing in promotions such as Professional
Championship Wrestling (PCW) and Melbourne City Wrestling (MCW).
He joined WWE in 2013, starting out in WWE's developmental territory NXT. The
following year, he formed a tag team with Wesley Blake, that won the NXT Tag
Team Championship on one occasion.[a] Murphy thus became the first Australian
champion in WWE history. In early 2018, Adams was moved to WWE's main
roster, as he became part of 205 Live. He won the WWE Cruiserweight
Championship later that year in October, becoming the first Australian wrestler to
win a title on the main roster. In April 2019, he was drafted to SmackDown,
moving out of the cruiserweight division. Murphy was drafted to Raw later that
year in October. In January 2020, Murphy associated himself with Seth Rollins,
leading to the duo winning the WWE Raw Tag Team Championship the following
week.
