played the most important role in my internship and helped me to do my internship report
according to my job. I would like to thank the Senior Manager of Ironco Md. Borhan Uddin from
the bottom of my heart.

Executive Summary

This report has attempted to highlight on the experience gathered during the period of internship
at Ironco Ltd. Ironco Ltd is a company in Bangladesh. As an intern from business discipline, I
got the opportunity to work with this company and tried to put my effort to make a depth study.

The first part of this report discusses the organizational overview which included the brief
overview of the company. I have given my best effort to include all the necessary points in order
to give a clear understanding about Ironco Ltd. I have also included all my experience during
internship resembling my jobs and responsibilities, learning from the internship. Here I have
emphasized mostly about my daily responsibilities and how much I was able to contribute to this
company. Afterwards, I have provided a short description about the observation that I have faced
throughout the internship journey and my methods of overcoming them.

In the second part of this report, I have discussed all the IMC tools that the company should
practice for selling their product. I have included how they should do these promotional activities
as they don’t have marketing sector at their company.

In the third part of this report, I have discussed all of their sales procedure and method in details.
I have tried my best to discuss all the details of their sales method step by step.

The last part was very significant because here I got the opportunity to share my feelings from
the internship. It got me engaged in a lot of thought regarding where I had the scope to go ahead
and thus this part deals with that.

Part: 1- Introduction

1.1 Company Information

The name of the company is Ironco. The nature of ownership of the company is sole
proprietorship. The year of establishment is on 1975. It is a manufacturing firm. Ironcos head
office is at Fakirapool D.I.T. extension road and its factory located at East Dholaipar, Dhaka.
The number of permanent employees are 30 and temporary employees are 12. The proprietor of
the company is Mr. Md. Saifullah Khan Noman.

1.2 About Ironco


Basically Ironco stands for safety and stronger security products. This is one of the leading
company for physical security products in Bangladesh. The chairman and the owner Md.
Saifullah Khan Noman started the journey of Ironco who is the first generation entrepreneur and
a veteran in physical security. He has been leading Ironco for four decades with his immense
creativity and vision. Now Ironco is successful and is more vigorous than before for the
excellence and the pursuit of quality. Ironco has 40 years of experience and manufactured best
quality security products by understanding their customers’ needs and preferences. The
company successfully manufactures fire resistant security products, home furniture, office
furniture, banking vault and strong room doors, also hospital equipment. The company consists
of qualified, experienced and dedicated expert minds who have managerial experience to give
the best output. The company manufacture safeguards for money, gold, assets and important
documents through protections from burglary, fire and theft. Ironco is working over more than
60% of banks in Bangladesh. They also worked for many private companies, corporate houses
and garment industries. They always pursue to offer sincere services and best quality products to
all their clients. The company now becomes one of the preferred brand for Bangladeshi financial
institutions and banks.

1.3 Mission
Ironcos mission is to establish their brand image by fulfilling their customers’ needs and
preferences through providing safety and stronger security. They provide high quality products
by exceeding customers perceived value.

1.4 Vision

Ironco will become the most trusted brand among other companies by giving customers desired
products and services through satisfying customers need at affordable price.

1.5 Quality Policy

Ironcos integral part of its management functions is the disciplines of its quality management.
For this they are recognized much than others. They consider this as a primary responsibility and
also a good key to do good business by adopting appropriate quality standards. Ironco maintains
its quality policy by continuous improvement in quality management activities. Their business in
run by following some principles:

 They do train their employees and staffs in the needs and responsibilities of good quality
management.
 Give focus on requirements of clients and work according to it.
 They are committed to provide high quality services and products based on their clients’
needs and preferences.
 They give focus on be gaining perfect commitment to all of their personnel for quality
improvements.
 They work closely with their clients to be able to give complete satisfied products.
 They follow a concept for improvement and also to make best use of their management
resources in all matters.

2.1 Current Marketing Communications of Ironco :

After doing complete 3 months of internship, could be able to find that Ironco gives very little
focus on their marketing communication tools. They don’t have any marketing department who
would handle all the marketing activities. They do very common marketing activities for doing
advertisements. Such as: newspaper adds, website and magazine articles for promotion. Ironco
does print advertisements in newspapers.

2.2 Future Initiatives for IMC (Integrated Marketing


Communication) Tools:

As a marketing major from North South University so that did some market analysis and made
report on the base of that. Give some suggestions on the base of IMC (Integrated Marketing
Communication) tools for their betterment in future. As they are successful in their industry and
have a very good brand image so that if they give some focus and efforts in marketing sector so
that they will do good than before. Future suggestions for Ironco are:

 Must do some outdoor advertisements (billboards)


 Should do leaflets & brochure advertisement.
 Give focus on digital marketing through Facebook, YouTube & Instagram
 For making good public relations they should sponsor some official events.
 Also give focus on internet marketing through attractive content writing.
 Must do TVC (Television Commercials) by popular celebrity face.

3.1 Specific responsibilities in Ironco


I have been working at Ironco as an intern for last 3 months under the supervision of the CEO of
the company. My supervisor gives me some responsibilities in the company. My core
responsibilities were to create official report and analysis based on real market data. Another
responsibility was to make some marketing initiatives for their future as my major is marketing.
Other responsibilities were update database, excel sheet prepare, fix company meetings with
their clients, communicate with their respective clients, clear due payment and taking meeting
notes. Also participated in group discussion for upcoming marketing campaign, arranged one
campaign, find and sort out the customer need, talk over phone with clients, design leaflets &
banners for upcoming promotion. All these were my responsibilities at Ironco.

3.2 Critical Observations


During the internship program have learned that how Ironco deal with their clients, understand
their needs and deliver products according to their expectations. One thing is they don’t do any
promotional activities that much for increase their company sales than before. But they give
service to their customers after sales also which is notable. As an intern I have been engaged
with them for last 3 months and observed that how they run their sales procedure, meeting with
clients, deliver the products, how they target customers and also how to deal with them. Their
behavior towards all their employees are so good. There are lot of things which anyone can learn
under the CEO of the company. He praised my work for several times and also was happy about
my dedication for the company. For the first time I gave professional contribution in a company
which will help me in my upcoming corporate life. I have found my internship program
challenges give me positivity rather than negativity. Ironco knows that how to use one employees
potential for betterment their company. As my background is marketing so that they use my
potential for their upcoming marketing campaign. I have more positive energy after doing the
internship from this company.

3.3 Interaction with supervisor & co-workers

Supervisor :
The working environment of Ironco was very good to me. Though I don’t have any experience
before working there. This is because of my supervisor Mr. Md. Noman, as it was easy for me to
follow all his instructions for past three months. I am very much thankful to my supervisor as I
have learned so many new things from him. Most of the I interact with him and take help from
him. He always encouraged me a lot. Senior manager and general manager also give me
instruction and helped me in every possible aspect. In general, I had a friendly relationship with
my supervisor. I found the office environment very informal because of him.

Co-workers:
Although this is a manufacturing company, all other employees are middle aged and very few
young employees. But I enjoyed the internship a lot. My co-workers were so nice to me and were
also so very helpful. All there were cooperation-oriented and also friendly. Senior manager
Mr.Md Borhan Uddin treat me as his daughter . Sometimes scolds me after that say sorry and
made me laugh. At the beginning of the internship journey I thought all these things with
complexity but now the feelings are different than before. I feel really blessed to have such
supervisor and co-workers.

3.4 Influence of internship on my career


As I have done my major in marketing but my family was not happy at my decision. They want
me to study accounting & finance. So I had some fear about the marketing sectors. But after
doing the internship at Ironco finally I am happy that now there is very need of marketing
everywhere. With the use of marketing knowledge an organization can reach to its target
audience very rapidly and easily. My CEO give me responsibility to do market research and
make real life marketing proposals. So I have gathered a great experience about it. Now I have

some positive energies which will help me in my future corporate life. This gives me more
inspiration and motivation.

3.5 Academic learning Vs Experiential learning

This is for the first time I had work in such environment. This is because of my university
requirements to complete the BBA program. But this internship program helps a lot a student.
They can prepare themselves for their future job or corporate life. Have dome many reports and
works at university but never worked at office. I have thought the internship journey as a testing
ground so see me if I can work in the field of marketing. The core issue which I found so
difficult is to interact with the customers and work according to their preference. As I am
introvert in nature and feel uncomfortable to convince the customers. And also I didn’t expect
the internship would be so fun.

To be very honest I thought that office jobs are quite boring and I have to sit ideally all day long.
There will be no scope to learn new things. But the experience is completely different than my
thoughts. I am now happy for that. I saw plenty of room to show creativity in job sector. So that I
decided that to use my internship program to apply my marketing knowledge and skills in the
real world. Ironco gave the opportunity. My experience is far better than my expectations.

This is clear that I got more than I have thought from the internship program. As a marketing
student I always wanted to explore the field of work with the help of my academic learning. But
found that experiential learning is also necessary and effective. As I have learned so many
different things from internship.

Part 4: Recommendation & Conclusion

4.1 Recommendation:
After doing the complete three months’ internship program at Ironco I have found some things
which they should work on those in near future. One of them is they should introduce new
department in their office which is Marketing department. As currently they don’t have any
marketing department, which is very much important for them. If they do so they will have more
orders, more customers, more publicity and so on. Their advertisement activities are dome
manually rather than digitally. Digital & internet marketing is now very popular. Ironco thought
that they have enough clients, orders and customers but this is not right. No one can see the
future. And if they do something which will bring more profits and popularity to them so this
will be definitely best from them.

4.2 Conclusion
At last I can conclude that I had a lot of good experience from past three months’ internship
program. My expectations were less than what experience I have got. Though this is true that the
journey was not very smooth. I had face some difficulties through work load, real life data
analysis and market research. The journey is very special and memorable to me. An undoubtedly
truth is that this internship program has impacted a positive influence in future career plan.
Ironco is in a leading position in this sector. But if they bring some changes in their company
they will do more good than before. They have got trustworthiness from their clients and have a
very good reputation in the market. Just the introduction of the marketing department will change
them differently.

Weekly Journal no.1

Week 1: From 6th October to 10th October

Evaluation of Week’s Experience:

6Th October was the first day of my internship. I have joined at Ironco as an intern. Ironco is
located in Fakirapool, Motijheel. When I entered the office I noticed that the office is well
decorated according to its standard. After entering the office, I asked the receptionist for my
supervisor. After sometime the receptionist took me to the CEO of the company where I met
with Mr. Mohammed Bin Noman. He introduced me with other employees of Ironco. Mr.
Noman explained me all my responsibilities and also gave me a short idea how their major
activities of the company, which is making vaults for banks. So the first day at office went so
nice and I met with some experienced people. They were very supportive as I was the youngest
employee among them.

On the second day, Mr. Noman told me that marketing works are very much little in this
company. So if I could introduce some effective ideas for the company it will be good for them.
As my major is Marketing. interesting. My supervisor told me to give effort and dedication while
they assign any task for me. He told me that he will give me in other works which are related to
other departments. In the rest of the week I had some effective discussion on the company’s
marketing activities. My supervisor Mr. Noman told me that my tasks will be started from next
week so he suggest me to get free with everyone which will help me to adopt the office
environment early.

Learning & Achievements:

 I got to know about my responsibilities as an intern in this company.


 Also know about some specific rules and regulations of this company.

Observations:
My first week experience as an intern is good because my supervisor Mr. Noman praised my
work and dedication. I observed that IRONCO has large number of clients which are mainly the
banks which take iron vaults for them.

Notable Incidents:

In the first week of my internship I have noticed that all employees of Ironco are well mannered,
supportive and dedicated to their work. Sometimes they go for coffee after office hour.

Weekly Journal 2

Week 1: From 13th October to 17th October

Evaluation of Week’s Experience:

In the second weeks starting day my supervisor told me to create a creative marketing campaign
for Ironco. As Ironco has less marketing activities. All their clients are very loyal and they got
their clients by word of mouth.
I discussed with Mr. Mizan and Mr. Saifullah sir about the marketing. I have suggested them the
main structure of the campaign and decided our prime locations where we will arrange a
campaign for promotions and advertising. In this I have attended three meetings about the
marketing campaign. Our main target is to become more popular and got more clients for vaults.
And finally I present the campaign plan to my supervisor as he is the CEO of the company. I
explained him how we will manage the campaign and why it will be effective. After the
discussion and presentation session, Mr. Saifullah Noman who is the owner of Ironco appreciate
my ideas and also gave some tips to make it more successful.

Learning & Achievements

 For the first time I work on marketing project alone which is a great experience for me .
 I have created an official report based on real market.
 My supervisor complimented me for my wonderful report on new marketing project.

Observations:
My first professional contribution experience as an intern was good. Mr. Saifullah Noman sir
was very satisfied with our promotional plan. I also observed my supervisor praised me for my
contribution to this company.

Notable Incidents:
After the busy office day, I along with two other colleagues planned to sit at a coffee shop after
office in this week. This was such a refreshment for me.

Weekly Journal 3

Week 1: From 20th October to 24th October

Evaluation of Week’s Experience:

In my 3rd week of this internship program I have done customer need analysis on the base of
several meetings and also from past database. My supervisor Mr. Noman gave me some previous
meeting notes and also I took some meeting notes while meeting was held. In this week there
were 4 meetings took place and have attended all the meetings. My supervisor Mr.Noman also
taught me how to find out clients need while meeting was going. For making the full summary
about the clients need it took the whole week. I have to cover 50 meeting notes and summarize it
in 6 pages.

Learning & Achievements:

 I got to know about how to find clients need on the base of meting notes.
 Creating report about the clients need.

 My supervisor was satisfied with my report.

Observations:
I have observed that Ironco is treating me good and giving me works as they found me eligible.
Also I felt happy that they appreciate my work and satisfied with my work and dedication.

Notable Incidents:
After submitting the client need report my supervisor shouted at me as the report was not well
organized according to him. Then I said sorry to him and organize the report again according to
his direction.

Weekly Journal 4

Week 1: From 27th October to 31st October

Evaluation of Week’s Experience:

In previous week my concentration was about the clients need on the basis of meeting but in this
my supervisor ask me to find about the market need by analyzing it. To complete my task, I
have gathered lots of information also did research about the market opportunities. And found
that Ironco can expand their market outside Dhaka also. As my major in BBA is Marketing so
that my supervisor give my tasks according to my eligibility. They want a good outcome from
me for their marketing campaign. For gathering the information, I have to go through the all
previous record. Also go through the upcoming orders and forecast about the future orders. I
have to work so hard in this week to make the report.

Learning & Achievements:

 How to write real life report on the base of market analysis.


 My supervisor said that my report was good but also I need some improvements. So that
he gave some tips about it.

Observations:
I found out that my internship program is treating me like full time employee which motivates
me a lot. And I am also feeling lucky that my supervisor is very good. I have learned from him a
lot in this 4 weeks.
Notable incidents :
My supervisor Mr. Noman gives pizza treat to all his employees this week.

Weekly Journal no.5

Week 1: From 3rd November to 7th November

Evaluation of Week’s Experience:

In this week my supervisor Mr. Noman told me talk with some clients. As per this I have called
some clients and fixed the next meeting dates with them. This was a new experience for me.
After fixing the meetings I also have to give confirmation email to all of them. Also I have done
some paper works like some necessary files I had to check and also re arrange those.

Learning & Achievements:


 I have learned that how to communicate with clients directly.
 Also learned how to fix meeting with clients over the phone which was a bit difficult for
me.
 Mr. Mohammed Bin Noman praised me for my confidence about dealing with clients and
fix meeting date.

Observations:

As comparing with previous 4 weeks this week was not workaholic for me. I also felt that in
every single week I got learn lot of new things. I always try to create good impression to my
supervisor Mr. Noman so that he never regrets about hiring me as their intern. I am taking my
internship program and work challenges positively rather than negative. I am giving my full
concentration so that Ironco give interns the opportunity to work with them in future also.

Notable Incidents:

In this week I went for dinner with my colleagues which was a different experience for me. And
I found that if I have lots of work pressure but I feel good when my supervisor appreciates my
works.

Weekly Journal no.6

Week 1: From 10th November to 14th November

Evaluation of Week’s Experience:

In the 6th week of my internship program my supervisor shifted me to accounts department to


help Ironco in their accounts related work. I am very much thankful to Mr. Noman as he kept his
promise by giving me another works. Surely it will increase my working capabilities.

Beginning of this week my supervisor assigned me about this week’s tasks. He briefed me about
all the tasks properly. The main task was to make Ironcos monthly salary database for all the
employees. In salary database I have to calculate all the allowances and salaries of all employees.
Normally Ironco gives all the employees’ salaries in the first week of every month. I have taken
help from the account manager Mr. Javed to create the salary database. Making salary database
heard so easy but making it was difficult for me and took a lot of time. I have to gather all the
information’s about all the employees allowance. It took the whole week to prepare the salary
database of all stuffs and employees of Ironco.

Learning & Achievements:

 I have learned how to work on salary database in excel at office.


 I have made 26 peoples salary database.

Observations:

My observation says that Ironco is treating me like their regular employee. they are using my
potential effectively. I am also happy to being an intern of them.

Weekly Journal no.7

Week 1: From 17th November to 21st November

Evaluation of Week’s Experience:

In this week my supervisor asked me to give focus on marketing activities. Though I am happy

that last week I got chance to do accounts related activities. Through this I have already learned

lot of things and have different experience. My supervisor Mr. Noman also assigned me to do a

technical task.

In this 7th week of my internship Mr. Noman told me to do e a market research to expand their
product line of Ironco for different segments. I spent the full week to make an effective report
which Ironco can achieve more than before. I gave my full effort and marketing knowledge to do
the task. During my BBA I’ve learned a lot which I applied here successfully. For completing
the report, I have taken help from Mr. Javed and Mr. Borhan as they are very old and
experienced employees of Ironco.

Learning & Achievements:

 Made professional report on the basis of expanding the market for Ironco.

 Find out the opportunities for upcoming project of this company.


 Learned to do proper market analysis for specific industry for a project.

Observations:

I am thankful enough to Mr. Noman and also Mr. Saifullah for considering me as an marketing
executive rather than an intern. They gave me the opportunity to work as per my knowledge and
also appreciating me . My supervisor also told me that I have good potential to become a perfect
employee of any company. After reviewing my report, he praised me a lot and gave me treat in
Hirajheel restaurant. I am very much happy that I have got a company like Ironco as my
internship company.

Notable Incident:

For completing the report, I take help from my supervisor, manager and from two employees
named Mr. Anwar and Mr. Mithu. I was also very tensed about the report. They suggested me
that I should use those things which I learned from my university. Then I started working by my
own knowledge and researched over internet for data. At the end, I have done with my
professional report and also felt that now on I am a self-independent as in every time there is no
one to help you out. The most important incident is my supervisor the CEO of Ironco liked my
report and also gave me treat at Hirajheel restaurant in Motijheel. I am very much happy to be an
intern in such a company , under such a good supervisor.

Weekly Journal no. 8

Week 8: From 24th November to 28th November

Evaluation of Week’s Experience:

In the 8th week of my internship my supervisor assigned me to call some clients for taking their
due payments. Mr. Noman also told me how should I do that which helped me a lot. As this is

very much new to me. So firstly I found the task very critical but later I could be able to do that.
The most challenging part was the different moods of different clients. After checking all the due
payments information, I called 7 clients to clear the due payments. I had to check almost 240
bank statements do my task. It took 4 days to complete my task. At the end of the week my
supervisor was satisfied with my work.

Learning & Achievements:

 Learned that how to talk with the clients over the phone while ask for collecting due
payments.
 I got chance to see full banking statements, payments slips and client information though
I am an intern.

Observations:

I have observed that Ironco give me flexibility and variability for doing my work. I got chance to
engaged with some new and effective work to increase my real life experience. Now I have
positive energy in me which will be good for my upcoming career. Another thing is Ironco
appreciates its employees a lot for their work. This is such an inspiring company.

Notable Incident:

While I was calling the clients for due payments and ask them to clear those due payments some
of them was rude to me. Even 1 client cut the phone call. I was feeling low then. But later I got
to know that this is normal. Though rest of them talk to me very nicely and clear the due
payments.

Week 9: From 1st December to 5th December

Evaluation of Week’s Experience:

In the 9th week of my internship program the pressure of work was a bit low than other weeks.
My supervisor asked me to do summary on some market analyzing data. The summary was all
about the need of the market of their service and product current now. So I have made the
summary and transfer them to PPT. The PPT was consist of 4 pages according to the key
findings. I got help from Mr. Noman to do the task.

Learning & Achievements:

 Learned to make summary on the base of real life data.

 Learned how to use excel to make summary and know how to find out the key findings.

Observations:

In this week I felt happy that I got to learn something new and dis important task for the
company. Sometimes I felt like I am a full time employee of the company rather than an intern.
This happened because of my supervisor who have faith on me and also appreciates much for my
work. I also got positive feedback from Mr. Noman.

Notable Incident:

While doing this week’s task I was facing some difficulties as I didn’t know how to figure out
data from excel to make perfect summary. Even Mr. Noman laughed at me . Then I felt so shy to
ask help from him. But later on he came to help me out. He also told me that people can learn
more from experience rather than bookish knowledge. Here the main problem was we learn to
run excel program but didn’t practice properly so that later on we find difficulties.

Week 12: From 8th December to 12th December

Evaluation of Week’s Experience:

This was my 10th week as an intern at Ironco. My supervisor assigned me to make some
presentation work by analyzing data to arrange a campaign. I was little sad that there are very
few days left in this company. I have to make total 4 power points for 4 different clients. Mr.
Noman gave me the information’s so that I could finish my task properly. He also gave me
directions about how should I present the data. I spent full 3 days to complete my task and got 2
days to give the presentations in front of the 4 clients. So there were 4 meetings week based on
my power point slides. As I am the student of North South University as a major in Marketing so
that I have good presentation skills which helped me a lot to survive this week properly.

Learning & Achievements:


 I have created presentation for clients on the base of real life information in a company
for the first time.
 All the meetings were mora than perfect.

Observations:
I have observed that my supervisor was happy at my work. As all the meetings were perfect. So
that I am happy and also felt lucky to get the chance to work as an intern in Ironco.I am grateful
to my supervisor Mr. Noman and to Ironco.

Notable Incident:
At Thursday I went to their factory for visit with my supervisor which is located in Narayangonj.
There all of the vaults made with iron and steel. This factory visit day was so interesting and also
a new experience for me. I will remember this internship program always because this is the
first office that I worked for, learned so many new things and also experienced so many good
things. So I became emotional in these last days because I got lots of things from this office and I
have learned so many things too.

Week 12: From 15th December to19th December

Evaluation of Week’s Experience :

This was my 11th week as an intern at Ironco. My supervisor assigned me to make some tasks
while he leaves for 1 week. He has been of country for treatment so that I had a lot work pressure
in this week. I have taken some interviews for recruitment and helped manager Mr. Javed
Ahmed. Also attended three meetings in this week. Did some work in database excel file sent
simultaneously to my supervisor as he went to Thailand So in this week I worked so hard.

Learning & Achievements:


 Learned how to maintain and cope with the workloads.
 Maintain how to handle office without the help of my supervisor.
Observations:
I have observed that my supervisor was happy at my work. As all the meetings were good. I am
grateful to my supervisor as he trusts me a lot and gave responsibilities.

Notable Incident:
I feel amazed that my supervisor gives me some important responsibilities in the absence of him.

Week 8: From 22 December to 27th December

Evaluation of Week’s Experience:

This is my last week of my internship program. So my pressure at work was a lot. I have to finish
lots of tasks in this week. I did paper works for 3 days in this week. In last 2 days of this week
gone by doing another marketing analysis report. My supervisor also assigned me to call some

clients to take due payments. After checking all the due payments information, I called 7 clients
to clear the due payments.

Learning & Achievements:


 Learned how to deal with workload.
 The best achievement is the 3 months’ experience in this company.

Observations:
I have observed that Ironco give me so much respect and affection. They just treated me just like
a regular employee which is a great feeling.

Notable Incident:
In the last day of my internship I got surprised. My co-workers arrange a small farewell party for
me with some fresh flowers, chocolates and a cake. My supervisor Mr. Noman gave me some
gifts from Ironco. This was a great journey for me.
