To Ms.

Maria Perlita De Leon, Learning Specialist Plan International Philippines, Ma’am…

Ma’am Rebecca Rose Enriquez the Community Development Facilitator of Plan
International Philippines, to our good- natured School Principal Rhum O. Bernate, Sir,
program facilitators, friends, fellow teachers a fulfilling Friday to one and all….

Let me begin my task today by extending my warmest thanks to our partner, Plan
International Philippines! From the bottom of our hearts we are truly grateful for your
incredible assistance and support provided to Silanga National High School especially
for the welfare of our learners. We will eternally be appreciative to the compassion and
kindness you have shown to us.

Anchored on the DepEd’s thrust to make and ensure quality education accessible to all
learners, Silanga National High School together with education partner, Plan
International Philippines initiated this 3- Day Seminar on Beginning Reading Instruction.
Its goal is to decrease or totally eradicate none readers in the secondary level.

And after having attended this three-day training, I presumed that as participants we
have learned a lot and it was because with the help of our competent and
knowledgeable facilitators namely Florita L. Lee, EPS Filipino, Paulina D. Gabon, EPS
English same with the Demo Teachers that we had yesterday; Ma’am Gina Gilbang,
Ma’am Aida Maravilla, ma’am Orpha Tamayo… And wait my kudos and great admiration
too also goes to Madam Phil De Leon who was truly amazing for giving and sharing very
worthwhile and significant point to us. Indeed, I have learned so much and I believe I
would be able to come out more from my shell and confidently apply these learnings to
my learners. I was also able to share my ideas without hesitations during some
interactions. And indeed, it is true that the more you share your ideas, the more
learnings you will get.

And now is the moment! This is it; we’ve made it! We are able to finish this refresher
with smiles in our faces and contentment in our hearts. But before we will part ways,
allow me to share some of my impressions for this very timely seminar.

The seminar was well organized in terms of its purpose and contents. The proceedings
right from the start to the end, went smoothly. Active interactions were clearly observed
from the facilitators to the participants and also to the materials used in the discussions.

Venue was well-ventilated and well-lighted, with meals and snacks served, I just couldn’t
find reasons to leave the room and miss such an event. The activities administered and
performed were informative and useful and can be adapt, enhance and modified to suit
to our students.
The conferenced we had caters our needs in updating our approaches in teaching
specifically for our slow and none readers in school.

This session now has come to end but the learnings are never-ending. Added
knowledge and the passion for teaching will surely maximize our potentials as educators
as we are one of the important people to shape the minds of our future leaders.

To the organizers and facilitators, THANK YOU SO MUCH. I hope that you will continue
helping us to be the best in our field and in the profession, not just during trainings but
every time that we feel that we need you and every time you feel that there is a need for
us to be more equip to the demand of the new norm and keep us abreast to new
teaching and learning platforms and offer quality education to Filipino- Learners.

And to my co-participants, thank you so much for your cooperation in making this
training a success! To everyone, CONGRATULATIONS for a job well done!
