ELECTRONIC SPECIFICATIONS

SECTION 1: GENERAL CONDITIONS

1.1 The Works under this division shall be subjected to the general conditions, which
shall be included as a part of these specifications and which apply to all work
performed under the Electronic Work Division.

SECTION 2: GENERAL DESCRIPTIONS

2.1 The work to be done under this division of the Specifications consist of the
Fabrication, furnishing, delivery and installation, complete in all details of the
Electronic work at the subject premises and all work materials incidentals to
the proper completion of the installation, except those portions of the work
which are expressly stated to be done by others. All works shall be in
accordance with the governing codes and regulations and with the
specifications, except those where same shall conflict with such Codes etc.,
which later shall then govern. The requirements with regards to materials and
workmanship, specify the required standards for the furnishing of all labor,
materials and appliances necessary for complete installation of the work
specified herein and indicted in the drawings. The Specifications are intended
to provide a broad outline of the required equipment, but are not intended to
include all details of design and construction.

SECTION 3: WORKS INCLUDED

3.1 Under this Division of the specifications, provide all labor, materials and
equipment and perform all the work necessary for the complete execution of
all electronic works as shown on the Electronic Drawings and on the General
Construction Drawing and as herein specified or both except as otherwise
excluded, and which, without excluding the generality of the foregoing, shall
include but not to be limited to the following principal items of work:

a. Furnish and install all writing devices, junction boxes, for the complete
telephone and data system.
b. Furnish and install a complete wiring and conduit system for telephone
and data system.
c. Perform all termination of the telephone and data system to TTC and patch
panel.
d. Complete testing of the telephone and data system.
e. Preparation of “As-Built” plans and drawings.
f. If anything has been omitted of any item of work or materials, unusually
furnished, which are necessary for the completion of the Electronic Work
as included in this Division of work.

SECTION 4: WORKS NOT INCLUDED

4.1 Furnishing and/or installation of equipment specifically stated on the plans to


be installed by others.

SECTION 5: CODES, INSPECTIONS, PERMITS AND FEES

5.1 The work under this contract is to be installed according to the Requirements
of the latest edition of the Philippine Electrical Code, the rules and regulation
of the local authorities and the requirements of the telephone company.

5.2 All permits and electrical fees required for this work shall be obtained by and
at the expense of the client/owner. The Contractor shall prepare as-built and
all forms and documents required by the approving authorities.

SECTION 6: RECORD DRAWINGS

6.1 The Contractor shall during the progress of the work keep a careful Record of
all changes where the actual installation differs from that shown on the
Contract Drawings. Upon completion, the Contractor shall, in a neat and
accurate manner, finalize “As Built” drawing on tracing paper. These drawing

shall be submitted to the Engineers for approval. After approval they shall
become the property of the owners. Final payment will be withheld until
receipt of the approved record drawings showing circuit runs and pull boxes
with sufficient information for future re-wiring, maintenance and
identification. The final submittal of record drawings shall be in original and
three (3) sets of print copies and shall be duly signed and sealed by
Professional Electronic Communication Engineer (PECE).

SECTION 7: SHOP DRAWING AND SAMPLES

7.1 Prepare and submit for approval shop drawings and cuts of equipment, or
devices furnished. After final approval of the Engineer / Architect, a sufficient
number of copies as directed shall be furnished for distribution. Fixture and
device cuts and/or catalogues shall be clearly mark to indicate the item
furnished.

7.2 Submit to the Engineer/Architect for approval samples of conduits, wires and
wiring devices, fixture plates and other items as maybe required.

7.3 The Portion of the work requiring shop drawing or sample submission shall be
commended until submission has been received by and duly approved by the
Engineer/Architect. All such portion of work shall be in accordance with
approved shop drawing and samples.

SECTION 8: SHOP COORDINATION

8.1 The Contractor shall prepare such detailed drawings of his equipment,
Exposed conduit routes. Location of sleeves, insert and supports as maybe
required for coordination of all phase of work. Upon demand he shall furnish
these drawings in adequate number for the information of all parties
concerned and shall coordinate the preparation of these drawings by
consultation with said drawings will not relieve Contractor in any way from
responsibility of property locating and coordinating his works with the work
of others.

SECTION 9: SHOP MINOR MODIFICATIONS

9.1 The plans as drawn are based upon architectural plan details and show
condition as accurately as it is possible to indicate them in a scale. The plans
are diagrammatical and do not necessarily show all fittings, etc. necessary to
fit the project conditions. Location of equipment, apparatus and appliances
shown on them are approximate. The Contractor shall be responsible for the
proper location in order to make fit with architectural details and instructions
from Owner’s representative at the site.

SECTION 10: GUARANTEES

10.1 The Contractor shall guarantee that the electrical system are free from all
defective workmanship and materials and will remain so far for a period of
one year from date of acceptance of work. Any defect appearing within
aforesaid period shall be remedied, by the Contractor at his expense.

SECTION 11: APPROVAL, SUBSTITUTIONS, ETC.

11.1 Whenever the words “For Approval” or “Approved” are used, specifically
with regards to manufactured specialties, etc., or whatever it is desired to
substitute a different make or type of apparatus for that specified, all
information pertinent to the adequacy and adaptability of the proposed
apparatus, shall be submitted to the Engineers, and their approval secured
before the apparatus is ordered or installed.

11.2 Expenses incurred for tests required by the Engineers/Architects to ascertain


the acceptability of substitutes to specified materials, shall be charge to the
account of the contractor without prejudice to their approval or disapproval.

SECTION 12: SUBCONTRACT, ETC.

12.1 The contractor shall be fully responsible for the work of any subcontractor or
manufacturer performing work or supplying material and ascertain that

electrical work, when finally delivered to the owner, shall be ready in every
respect for satisfactory and efficient operation.

SECTION 13: WORKMANSHIP

13.1 The work throughout shall be executed in the best and most thorough manner
under the direction of the Contractor and to the satisfaction of the owner and
Engineers/Architects, who will jointly interpret the meaning of drawings and
Specifications and shall have the authority to eject any work or materials
which in their judgment, are not full accordance herewith.

SECTION 14: STANDARD OF MATERIALS

14.1 All materials shall conform with the following specifications, unless
specifically accepted and all materials where not specified shall be of the best
of their respective kind.

14.2 Samples of all materials shall be submitted for approval as required by the
Engineers.

SECTION 15: INSTALLATION REQUIREMENTS

15.1 Approval of materials, etc. – All electrical materials shall meet the
requirements and shall bear the inspection label wherever standard have been
established. As soon as practicable, and within ten (10) days after he official
award the contract and before any materials or equipment are ordered, the
Contractor shall submit to the Engineers for approval of a complete list of
materials, apparatus and equipment in triplicate giving the manufacturer’s
name, address, descriptive data, trade name of item, rated capacities, certified
analysis, catalogue no number, etc. When called upon to do so, the Contractor
shall revise and re-submit a complete or a portion of the list, as required by the
Engineers/Architect, for every materials the Contractor proposes to use or
install.

15.2 Ground test – The entire installation shall be free from improper grounds and
short circuit. These shall be made in the presence of representative of the
owner. Each panels shall be tested with mains connected to the feeder,
branches connected and switches closed, lamps removed or omitted from the
socket and switches closed. In no case shall the insulation resistance be less
than the allowed Regulation for Electrical Equipment of Buildings. Failure
shall be corrected in a manner satisfactory to the Engineers/Architects.

SECTION 16: CONTRACT DRAWINGS

16.1 The location of outlets, apparatus and equipment indicated in the drawings are
shown as accurately as possible, that the small scale drawings are necessarily
diagrammatic and that such locations are shown, are subject to slight
revisions, as the work is installed which may be necessary to fit construction
conditions. No major changes shall be made however, without the approval in
writing of the Engineers/Architects.

SECTION 17: WIRES AND CABLES

17.1 All wires shall be copper, soft drawn and annealed shall be of 98%
conductivity, shall be smooth and true of a cylindrical form and within 1% of
the actual size called for.

17.2 All wires and cables shall be as manufactured by Phelp Dodge or Approved
equal

17.3 Wires and cables for power and lighting system shall be plastic insulated for
600 volts working pressure type “THHN” unless otherwise noted or specified
o plans.

17.4 Wires and cables for lighting system installed or run throughout within the
ballast compartment shall be plastic insulated for 600 volts working pressure
type THHN unless otherwise noted or specified on plans.

17.5 For lighting and power system no wire smaller than 3.5 mm sq. shall be used
except for control leads or otherwise specified.

17.6 For information outlet, patch panel and other related voice and data
accessories AMP or approved equal shall be used.

SECTION 18: CONDUITS

18.1 Conduits in general shall be PVC as manufactured by Neltex.

18.2 No conduits shall be used in any system smaller than 15 mm diameter nor
shall have more than four (4) 90 degrees bends in any one run and where
necessary, pull boxes shall be provided.

SECTION 19: OUTLET BOXES AND FITTINGS

19.1 At all outlets of whatever kind, for all the system there shall be provided a
suitable fittings, which shall be either a box or other device specially designed
to receive the type of fitting to be mounted there on.

19.2 The Contractor shall consult with the Engineers/Architects as to the nature of
the various fittings to be used before installing his outlet fittings, to the nature
of the appliances to be mounted on them, so that the work, when completed
will be a finished design.

19.3 At all outlets on concealed conduit works, provide galvanized pressed steel
outlet boxes of standard make. These boxes shall be in all cases standard and
where such boxes are not available on the market, special boxes shall be
secured by the Contractor at his own expense. In general outlet boxes shall be
at least 100 mm dia., 53 mm deep and gauge #16.

SECTION 20: JUNCTION AND PULL BOXES

20.1 Junction and pull boxes, of Code gauge steel. Galvanized shall be provided as
indicated or as required for facilitating the pulling of wires and cables. Pull
boxes in finished places shall be located and installed with the permission and
to the satisfaction of Architects/Engineers.

SECTION 21: WALL RECEPTACLE AND PLATES

21.1 Wall receptacle outlet shall be flush mounting, CAT 6 information outlet as
manufactured by AMP.

21.2 Type and color of receptacle outlet and plates shall be selected by the
Engineer and Architect.

21.3 Appropriate sample of outlets and plates shall be submitted prior to purchase
of devices.
