responsibilities of being a good citizen .

Activity 1. I will first ask the children what they believe it means to
be a good citizen. I will read Being a Good Citizen, by
Adrian Vigliano.
2. To cover each subset in 3.11, I will go through a – f
individually and ask them what they think it means and
how they can practice that in their school. We will make
an information web on the board for each and discuss
each idea they come up with.
3. Once the discussion has concluded, the students will
make a video using the Web 2.0 tool Simpleshow,
emphasizing the information they have learned about
being a good citizen, and how they can apply that
information to their lives. Students can refer to the
discussion web on the board for ideas for their video.
4. To begin the process of creating the video the students
will use their school issued Chromebook to sign on to
www.simpleshow.com. This project does involve sound,
so the students will need their headphones.
5. The students will sign into my special account using the
email and password provided.
6. They will choose Education and start with the blank
screen.
7. Pull this website up on the computer and go over this
process using the smart board that is hooked up to my
computer.
8. On the smartboard, show them the video on how to
create a video. Next show the sample I made to give
them an idea on what information they need to present.
9. Next, have the students click Create Your Own Video.
10. Have the students name the project (Must be something
Civics related) and then click Write Script.
11. Under Write Storyline, have the students click
Educational and then have them click “Blank Template”.
12. Students can then follow the prompts to make their
story. Should students ask how to spell words, please
write them on Word Wall board next to the Mimio
board. This will allow the whole class to use the word
for reference should they also not know how to spell it.
13. Be ready with a blank template on the main computer to
show the students how to do something should any
questions arise.
Pedagogy

generated their video, I will share each students videos
