1. According to you, what is role of multimedia in interface design. How can it be utilized?
Answer:
Multimedia
 It is a form of communication which has content in the form of texts, audios, images,
animations, or video.
 Multimedia is used in interface design for easy as well as creative interaction with the
user of the application.
 It makes it easier for the user to communicate in the desired manner to get the
required output.
 Nowadays, it is not just one form media that is used for communication, but a
combination of all five forms (texts, audios, images, animations, or video) to make the
interaction smoother and more creative between the user and the application.
 Different forms of media can be used to target different set of users. In other words, it
helps the developers to create user specific applications which target only the suitable
users.

2. Differentiate between AR and VR with respect to HCI.

Answer:

AR (Augmented Reality) VR (Virtual Reality)

AR lets the user experience the real world, VR removes the user from that real-world
which has been digitally augmented or experience, replacing it with a completely

VR requires complete immersion hence, VR

3. Why is cognition important in designing interface?

Answer:
 Cognition involves processes such as thinking, remembering, learning and decision
making.
 Through study these humans' cognitive process, the developers of interaction system
can be better at understanding users' psychological characteristic during the process of
interacting with computer systems.
 In other words, to achieve the goal of developing human-oriented human-computer
interfaces developers have to develop sound knowledge of the structure and the
representational dynamics of the cognitive system which is interacting with the
computer.
