Introduction

Fabindia is a leading ethic wear chain of 147 stores and is known for the jewellery, clothing,
home furnishings and many other products. Fabindia has a very strong value system and culture,
of which continuous improvement is an intrinsic part. The HR department is relatively new to the
company. It was created one HR process at a time, by first introducing concepts and creating
openness in the minds of employees.

Problems and challenges faced by the organisations and HR


1) Non-availibity of manpower at the short time.
2) Have to move people to hire authorities before they are ready.
3) The ratio of HR to employee is 1:125
4) The team has no specialists other than one Training Manager.
5) Seventy-one percent are below the age of 35 years and are not highly qualified.
6) Motivating the employees was also one of the big challenge for the organisation.
7) Employees to attend training programmes
8) To use what they learnt through training, on the shop floor.

Solutions of the challenges faced by the organisations and


priorities by HR
 As there are non availibity of the manpower so in this case the existing employees should be
trained properly.
 The HR can also hire Contingent Workers if there is shortage of the manpower.
 The ratio of HR to employee is 1:125 .More HR should be there in the organisation in order
to attract, develop and retain the right talent in the company.
 The core values of the companies such as honesty and others of the organisation should be
revisited and reinforced across the floors in all the stores of the company
 The HR team should have more than one specialists for capturing the right and the best
talent for the organisation.
 Seventy-one percent of the employees are below the age of 35 years and are not highly
qualified so appropriate training programs should be organised for these employees.
Training sessions should be properly planned and it should be matched with the goals of the
organisation.
 When employees do not attend the trainings then HR should organize paid trainings for the
employees and also provide certificates in order to motivate and encourage employess to
attend the trainings.
 Post training sessions should also be organised in order to oversee whether employees are
able to use the knowledge learned during the training.
 The program description of the training should be should be very clear so that the employee
know what is expected from them.

Conclusion
If there will be competency based HR system in the organisation it will help to focus on the specific
requirements of each role and employee. Despite of the rapid growth it is seen that they employees
of the organisation are highly connected which is one of the success factors for the organisation
.Women participation should be kept high. The HR to employee ratio should be increased should
that right talent is attracted in the organisation.
