INTRODUCTION

Bakery industry in india is the largest food industry with


annual turnover of about Rs 3000 crores. The biscuits are becoming
quite popular in rural area as well. nearly 55%of the biscuits industry in
india compromised of organized and unorganized sector.the FBMI
represent the organized biscuits industry consisting of
small,medium,large biscuits manufacturing located in all zones and all
state of the country .major brand of biscuits are-britannia ,parle,priya
gold elite ,dukes,anupam,horlicks,besides various regional state
brands.

A long time ago,when british ruled india ,a small factory was srt
up in the suburbs of Mumbai city,to manufacturing sweet and toffes.
The year was 1929 and the market was dominated by famous
international brands that were imported freel.despite the odd and an
equal competition, theses company called parle product and survive
and success,by a there two high quality and improve from time to time.

A decade later, in 1939,parle product began manufacturing biscuits


in addition to sweet and toffees .having already establish a reputation
for quality,the parle brand name grow in straight with these
diversification . parle glucose and parle Monaco where the first brand
of biscuits to be introduce ,which later when on to become leading
names for great taste and quality.
STATEMENT OF RESEARCH PROBLEM

• Parle –g had to downsize because of heavy competition in their


market and poor brand management and infighting among the
owners. Parle-g a large portfolio of product which are old and has
not innovated in the marketing front.

IMPORTANCE OF RESEARCH STUDY

• Since 1990 ,parle -g has managed to retain 75-80% of glucose


biscuits market,while premium biscuits are worth only Rs5000
crore in the total biscuits market, according to head of several top
biscuits makers in india. This is why parle-g is consistently ranked
among the most enduring brands in india.

• Primarily eaten as a tea time snack ,parle-g is one of the oldest


brand name in india ,for decades the product was instant
recognised by its iconic white and yellow wax wrapper .a more
common 65 gram snack pack is sold for as 15 cents (5 INR).
OBJECTIVE OF THE STUDY

• Firstly ,main objective was to get first hand experience of working


is an organization ,which would be helpful for my endeavor.

• To Know the detail process of Parle-g products.

• To find out the consumer preference according to retailer view

• To find out the competitive activity and merchandising through


retailer of parle-g buscits.

• To find out the major competitor of parle biscuits.

• To find out the satisfaction level towards service provided by


parle –g

• To find out marketing strategy used by the parlr-g product.

HYPOTHESIS

• There is no reason to parle -g being number one in the glucose


biscuits segment.

• There is no reson for parle- g being number one in the glucose


biscuits segment and we need to find out the reson for it.
REVIEW OF LITERATURE

• The literature review or survey section examine recent research


studies, company data or industry report that act as a basis for
proposed study .research related literature and related literature
secondary data from comprehensive perspective, moving to more
specific studies that are asscocoiated with our study.

• The literature review is basically a secondary data that we have


gathered from the website of parle-g ,mouthshut,com and various
other source with specified that the parle –g is number 1 in give by
the people on mouth shut .com was totally favoring our study.

SCOPE OF THE STUDY

• filled with the goodness of milk and wheat ,parle –g is a source of


all round nourishment .treat your self to pack of yummy parle-g
biscuits to experience what has nurtured and strengthened
millions of people for over 70 years. A meal substitute for some
and tasty and healthy snack for many others.

• parle –g being counsumble product is not influence by the people


around them.they are influenced by friend ,relative,family member
specially elder sibling etc so if they see anyone around them
having parle-g biscuits they too want to eat it
LIMITATION OF THE STUDY

• The time duration for which the study was conducted was less
hence the sample size was restricted to about 30 individuals.

• The cost factor also limited our reach vicinity

• The research paper suffer from certain limitation for e.g. the
limited access source of data and material , limitation with respect
to time and also with respect to the limited space in which the
researcher has restricted his research work .however the research
has ensured that only standard text book, commentaries and
material are being resorted to while crazing on his research .

NEED FOR THE STUDY

• Parle –g has so many feature but its USP is health is single pack.i.e
a single pack of biscuits offer for 450 calories,swad bhara ,shakti
bhara(full of taste and energy ) parle g uses healthy ingredience
which if consume provide 450 calories per pack.
RESEARCH METHODOLOGY

• RESEARCH METHODOLOGY-

Research Methodology is a way to systematically solve the


problem. The research Methodology includes the various
methods and techniques for conducting a research. Research is
an art of scientific investigation. In other word research is a
scientific and systematic search for pertinent information on a
specific topic. The logic behind taking research methodology
into consideration is that one can have knowledge about the
method and procedure adopted for achievement of objective of
the project. The present research methodology consist the
flowing things needs of the study, scope of the study, objectives
of the study, data collection, sample design and analysis
instrument. The detailed description is given under the
following heads.

• MEANING OF RESEARCH -

Research is systematic activity to achieve the truth.it include the


identification of study area, the procedure for collecting data,
analyzing the data and finding the conclusion.
Research is common parlance refer to a search for
knowledge .research is consider to be more objective,
methodical, well determine scientific process of investigation.

According to fred kerlinger,Research is an organized enquiry


designed and carried out to provide information for solving a
problem.

1. Primary data –

The first-hand information bearing on any research which has


been collected by the researcher may be called “primary data”. But
my project is completely depends upon secondary data as there is
no innovative data in concern of my study.

2. Secondary data –

The secondary data on the other hand, are based on


second hand information. The data which have been already
Been collected, compiled and presented easier by any agency
may be used for the purpose of investigated such data may be
called “secondary data”. Collecting the information with the help

CONCLUSION

PARLE-G Is the worlds largest selling brand of biscuits.parle –


g has good trick of tapping the consumer .paele-g can be consum by all
the age group and it is favorite for mainy of them. Parle –g has held the
it is price line at rupees 4 for more than year 25 year.

launched in the year 1939 ,it was one of the first brand of parle
product.it was called parle glucose biscuits mainly to that it was a
glucose biscuits .
