People are no longer listening to news on television or radio. Do you agree?

In decades, we have seen the television and radio as a source of news. But
there are suggestions that people are no longer listening to news on them. Is it true?
I believe that emergence of internet has making an impact on them as a main source
of news. The news on the internet is very convenient and fast updated.
Nevertheless, some believe that news on television and radio are still relevant and
reliable.

Firstly, the vast development of internet has really changed the way we
receiving news. It is very convenient where you can get news at your finger tip.
Internet allows us to retrieve news anywhere and anytime, as long as our devices
have an internet connection. Unlike television and radio, we need to wait for news
being aired at specific time. Hence, I believe that these both will be left behind as
source of news.

Secondly, latest news is much faster being updated on the internet especially
on social media and website. Research shows that, people hear about the breaking
news via social media before hearing it on a television or radio. Therefore, people
tend to use the internet to get latest news rather than waiting for it on television and
radio.

On the other hand, I do believe that television and radio are still relevant.
Several parts of the country have poor internet coverage but has good signal for
television and radio especially in the rural areas. The latest news only comes from
these both. Therefore, people in rural still depending on television and radio.

Additionally, the news on these both is more reliable and trustworthy. The
news come from a qualified journalist and undergoes an extensive process of
editorial and passes a certain level of quality before being aired. Thus, compared to
the internet that has a lot of fake news and come from anonymous writer.

As a conclusion, even though the internet has emerged as a main source of

news nowadays, but the existent of television and radio are still relevant. These both
still play a vital role in disseminating news in the country. Regardless, television and
radio must adapt to the new technology to keep it survive and relevant.
