• Notification for Longer Timeframe to Initiate Removal Action Work Plan for
Deactivation of Non-Time-Critical Buildings and Structures at PORTS received
on March 24, 2020 (RAWP).
This letter was prepared in accordance with Section XVII of the April 13, 2010 Director’s
Final Findings and Orders for Removal Action and Remedial Investigation and Feasibility
Study and Remedial Design and Remedial Action including the July 16, 2012 modification
thereto (DFF&O).
Ohio EPA approves DOE’s request to delay initiation of removal action until 60 days after
PORTS returns to normal operations. The Ohio EPA agrees that the site transition to
minimum mission-critical activities due to COVID-19 is an unavoidable delay pursuant to
the DFFO.
