I. OBJECTIVES
A. Given the available materials, students should be able to:
1. describe the process of Sexual Reproduction;
2. identify the main advantage and disadvantage of sexual reproduction;
3. state the importance of sexual reproduction in evolution;
B. answer at least 3 out of 5 items correctly.

III.LEARNING TASK
A. Routine Activities
B. Motivation
Activity is called “Modified Taboo Card Game and Jumbled Letters”. The class will
be divided into 4 groups; each group will be given a taboo card and Jumbled Letters.
Students must be able to state their own definition about the word formed from the
jumbled letters; they will write it on their group board. On the taboo card, there will
be set of words that will serve as clues (These words must be used in the definition.).
There will be photos posted on the board for additional references. After 2 minutes, a
representative from each group will present their work.
C. Lesson Proper
1. Pre-activity discussion
a. Unlocking of terms difficulty
Instruction for the entire discussion will be discussed.
Activity is called “Modified Taboo Card Game and Jumbled Letters”. The
class will be divided into 4 groups; each group will be given a taboo card and
Jumbled Letters. Students must be able to state their own definition about the
word formed from the jumbled letters; they will write it on the board. On the
taboo card, there will be set of words that will serve as clues (These words
must be used in the definition.). There will be photos posted on the board for
additional references. After 2 minutes, a representative from each group will
present their work.
2. Activity Proper
The class will be viewing a 5-minute video. The words they defined will
be mentioned in the video (Pls. pay attention to important events). After watching,
for another 5 minutes, each group will arrange sets of clip-arts (given by the
facilitators) showing different stages of sexual reproduction and paste it on the
given film strips. Then each group will be answering the guide questions, the set
of clip arts and the video are the references.
3. Post-Activity Discussion
Each guide question will be answered at the same time analyzing groups’
answers.
D. Value Situations:
Your mother is 6 months pregnant and you saw her lifting a heavy casket. Since
you know that it takes 9 months for a zygote to develop, what will you do? What
values you develop?
a. Ignore and leave.
b. Help her out
c. Remind her about her condition then leave.
E. Evaluation
Identify if the statement is correct or not. Write TRUE if it is correct and if wrong
change a word/ words to correct the sentence.
1. Somatic cells are produced by the female and male organism through
Gametogenesis for reproduction.
2. Female organisms produce non-motile cells for reproduction.
3. Sexual Reproduction takes place too fast that is why it is easy to breed
organisms which sexually reproduces.
4. The offspring has identical traits with their parents.
5. Zygote is formed upon union of the cells produced by female and male for
reproduction.
IV. AGREEMENT/ASSIGNMENT
