Reading For Test Unit 6
Taunya is staying at the Blossom Hotel on East 60 th Street in New York. She is
talking to the receptionist because she needs directions.
Taunya: Excuse me. How do I get to the Star of India Restaurant? I want to have
lunch there. Can I walk there?
Receptionist: Well... yes, you can walk. It only takes ten minutes. Leave the hotel
and turn right. Just walk four blocks down this street. It’s on the corner of East
60th Street and Lexington Avenue. It’s easy!
Taunya: Thank you very much!
Receptionist: You’re welcome.
Julie: Oh, and where is FAO Schwartz? I want to go there afterwards.
Receptionist: FAO Schwartz has great toys. It’s on the corner of East 58th Street
and 5th Avenue. You want to go there from the restaurant, right?
Taunya: Yes, after I eat I want to shop.
Receptionist: Well... from the restaurant turn right and walk down Lexington
Avenue for two blocks. Turn right on East 58 th Street and then walk four blocks up
that street. It’s on the corner.
Taunya: That’s great! Thanks for your help.
Receptionist: No problem. Have a good day!
