DEDICATION

. I dedicate this project mainly to God, for blessing my life, for being my guide, my strength and
fortitude throughout this year

To my parents and grandparents, thank you for your support and your good advice, for instilling in
me values and showing me with tests that you can achieve what you want.
4 INTRODUCTION

Free time refers to the time in which activities are carried out that are not compulsory and therefore
includes time after school hours and on weekends. It is voluntary, therefore, it is not imposed; it
incorporates a clear component of fun, it includes activities that we want, like to do and that make
us feel good; it is linked to the sphere of the personal, that is, it is a function of a person's
preferences and values, as well as their psychological profile; It involves various types of learning,
so that, depending on the type of activity, one or the other will be favored. (RUIZ, F. O. 2014).

The adequate use of free time is shown as a social need in which the school, the family and the
community have to take part, therefore within a constructivist perspective, to educate for life, to
promote healthy lifestyle habits through the good use of free time favors the socialization process in
children's lives. The street and parks are the spaces of preference or the only possible places where
our children make use of their free time. Unarmed scenarios devoid of any educational action and,
on the contrary, plagued with risky situations that compromise their integrity. (Carballosa, L. M.
2017).

According Mendo (2000), “free time is the time of self-training, the best way to achieve it,
educating people for the optimal use of that time, will be the objective of free time education”.

However, not all leisure time activities contribute equally to positive development. Larson (2000)
differentiates between various types of activities practiced by adolescents in their free time. These
are: school assignments where teens experience concentration and challenge but often no intrinsic
motivation, watching television and being with friends where teens experience intrinsic motivation
but not necessarily challenge and concentration, and activities that they combine intrinsic
motivation and concentration, in which a smaller group of adolescents participate and that
correspond to voluntary structured activities (sports, arts, music and hobbies). The initiative is
developed only when participating in structured voluntary activities, since three elements of it come
into play: the intrinsic motivation or experience of wanting to carry out an activity and invest in it,
the effort to focus attention on rules, restrictions and challenges associated with the activity and the
need for time and effort to achieve achievements (Ramos, et al., 2012).
5 OBJECTIVES

5.1 OBJECTIVE GENERAL

 Make the most of the use of free time as a space for healthy recreation.

5.2 OBJECTIVE ESPECIFICOS

 Motivate children, youth and adolescents from the institutional and family to use

their free time properly.

 Plan activities to take advantage of free time that promote a better quality of life

through healthy habits and styles.

 Promote spaces for body and manual expression and stimulate creativity through

various games.
6 PROBLEM QUESTION

¿How to properly take advantage of the use of free time as a space for healthy

recreation?
7 DEVELOPMENT OF THE TOPIC

This project has the primary intention of channeling and taking advantage of the creativity

of children, youth and adolescents for the use of free time, but at the same time,

intrinsically, what is expected as a result is that it recognizes that healthy recreation is a

need, different from leisure, or the extreme attitude of confusing free time with “nothing to

do”.

It is proposed to work from participatory approaches, in such a way that the approach and

construction of knowledge is carried out collectively, through actions of a practical,

experiential and experiential nature. with the purpose that young people can directly

experience the actions designed, and thus achieve the proposed objectives.

For the implementation of the proposal for the use of free time in children, youth and

adolescents, they must be reached with activities that allow them to develop and enhance

skills such as: plastic arts, performing arts, music and sports.

On the other hand, Adolescence is a decisive period in a person's life, reinforcing healthy

habits will help them to be preserved for the rest of life. Influence as a father / mother is

very important for children to be aware and practice a healthy lifestyle.

In this way, artistic and sports expressions open a window for young people to release their
stress, reduce their worries and consequently reduce the levels of anxiety and
aggressiveness associated with these factors; In addition, the sports disciplines promote
healthy eating and healthy lifestyles based on the prevention of risks such as alcoholism,
smoking or drug addiction.
8 CONCLUSION

This project teaches us in a general way that free time is understandable as an ideal context

to satisfy the needs of adolescent development.

Therefore, it is necessary for young people to be immersed and participate in organized or

structured activities during their free time, to meet their needs and promote positive

development.

However, in order for them to use their free time well, they must be educated and trained,

so that they make it a space that provides them with elements for their integral

development, leading them to acquire healthy lifestyle habits, which allow them to envision

and build a project of lifetime. That is, to train adolescents to use this resource, from a

formative, creative and playful perspective, which allows them to grow in a healthy and

timely manner.

In summary, it is expected that the different social agents will work together in the design

of activity programs for the formative use of free time, which leads to give educational

value to these activities, that is, to turn them into a means for the establishment of good

habits.
