PRACTICE TEST GUIDELINES

I. SEVERAL IMPORTANT STEPS BEFORE RUNNING THE PRACTICE TEST

1. Make sure to disable the antivirus and windows update


2. Make sure your device time and time zone is set on automatic setting and synchronized.
a) Right click on date and time information located on your device taskbar

b) Choose Adjust date/time

c) Set your device time and time zone on automatic setting and make sure that the clock is
synchronized

II. PRACTICE TEST DESCRIPTION

PRACTICE TEST are independent test practice for internet-based GMST which is designed to help the
participants to get familiar with the display, function, and menus on the Test Program. Once the
participants have successfully installed the test program, the participants will be able to do the practice
test independently for one time within the time frame set by the test committee. The practice test
consists of 5 questions with time allocation of 10 minutes.

III. HOW TO RUN THE PRACTICE TEST

IV. RUNNING THE TEST PROGRAM

1. Double click on file cbt.ugm.seb


2. A dialog box “Loading Settings” will appear, enter the password “upap” then click ‘OK’

3. Wait until the browser program is opened as shown on the picture below (Zoom app and SEB will
automatically open simultaneously)

V. PRACTICE TEST LOGIN PROCEDURE
1. Login page display

2. On the ‘Username’ column enter the username you received from the test committee (UPAP
Faculty of Psychology, Universitas Gadjah Mada) For example: 2001100111@gmst.ugm
3. Enter the password sent by the test committee in the ‘Password’ column.
4. When you have finished the input, click Login or press enter on your keyboard.
5. If you find an error information appears as in the image below, then:
a. Report problems that you have experienced via e-mail, after your account is recovered,
remember to always log out before closing the application.
b. If this problem is encountered after you have successfully completed the Practice Test, you
do not need to report, all accounts will be recovered on the exam day.

6. When you have successfully logged in, you will be presented with Participant Account
Information in the Dashboard.

7. Choose ‘Exam’ menu located under the ‘Dashboard’ menu.

VI. CARRYING OUT PRACTICE TEST

1. Now you will be presented with the list of the subtest in this exam and their respective allocated
time

2. Choose ‘Take the Exam’ located on the right side of ‘PRACTICE TEST’
3. Next, the ‘PRACTICE TEST’ information page will appear

4. Enter the token sent by the test committee in capital letter.


5. Click ‘Start
6. If you encounter a pop-up window notifying that the test time’s up even before you begin to
do the test, here are what to do:
o Log out and quit the program,
o Read and follow the steps as instructed on the HOW TO FIX TIMING GLITCH.pdf
o Report your issue to the committee through installation confirmation form or directly send
a report e-mail.
If you do not encounter this test time’s up issue, skip to the next step.
7. Explore the menus and questions for the PRACTICE TEST (see section VII for further
elaboration)

8. Click ‘Finish’, which will appear once the last number or the questions is answered
9. You will be directed back to the page containing the list of the subtests and the ‘Action’ status
for your ‘PRACTICE TEST’ will be changed into ‘Finish’
10. Click ‘Logout’ button located under the ‘Exam’ menu.

Note: Remember to always log out the test account before closing the application.

VII. DISPLAY AND MENU FUNCTION DESCRIPTION

1. Navigation menu on the left side shows the buttons displaying the number of the questions
which help you to navigate through the test.
2. Question#1 is blue colored menu on the upper left side of the question page and shows which
question is currently displayed. If you click the question number 3 on the navigation panel then
question number 3 will be opened on your monitor screen and the writing on blue highlighted
information will change into ‘Question#3’.

3. Time remaining is in red colored menu on the upper right side of the question page and shows
how much time remaining for you to be allowed to complete this subtest. When the allocated
time is up, the system will automatically close the subtest and you will be directed back to the
page containing the list of the subtests.
4. Previous button, to consecutively open the previous question.
5. Next button, to consecutively open the next question.
6. You can choose the answer by clicking one of the displayed options.
7. Your chosen answer option area will be highlighted in green and it will be automatically saved
when you choose other question or when you click the ‘Next’ button.
8. On the Navigation menu you will see the unanswered question buttons marked with – (minus)
sign.
9. Answered question will be highlighted in green and the chosen answer will be displayed next to
its number in the question buttons on Navigation menu.
10. Should you feel unsure with your chosen answer in a particular question, you can choose ‘Doubt’
button in between ‘Previous’ and ‘Next’ button to mark said question. Your answer will be saved
but you can go back to change it later. The questions marked with ‘Doubt’ button will be
highlighted in orange color and your chosen answer will be displayed next to its number in the
question buttons on Navigation menu. You will not be able to change the answer to the
questions marked with ‘Doubt’ when the time limit for the test is up or when you click ‘Finish’
button at the end of the subtest
11. On the last question for each subtest you will see ‘Finish’ button colored in red on the right side
of the ‘Doubt’ button.

12. When you click on ‘Finish’ button, you will receive a pop up warning you to end the test:

13. If you choose OK, then the subtest will be automatically closed and your remaining time left will
be forfeited.

VIII. HOW TO FIX SOME DISPLAY ISSUES DURING TEST: LOGGING OUT BEFORE THE TEST IS OVER

If participants encounter issues such as the test questions are not displayed or inability to click and
choosing the answer during the test, participants can log out of the test system using this method:

1. Click on their respective application number located on the upper right corner of the test page.
2. Click ‘Logout’

IX. CLOSING THE TEST PROGRAM
1. After the participants have completed the test practice and logged out from the test system, the
participants can click on the power button on the lower right corner of the page

2. Next, ‘Close Safe Exam Browser’ dialog box will appear


3. Enter the password “upap”, then click OK or Confirm
