TEST PROGRAM INSTALLATION TROUBLESHOOTING

TROUBLESHOOTING ISSUES DURING INSTALLATION OF TEST PROGRAM

1. If Browser.exe is successfully installed, but cbt-ugm.seb is not automatically integrated with


the program you can try following these steps:

 Right click on cbt-ugm.seb


 Choose ‘open with’
 Check ‘always use this app to open .seb files’
 Choose ‘more apps’
 Scroll down and click ‘look for another app on this pc’
 Open SEB location (usually it is located in C:\Program Files
(x86)\SafeExamBrowser)
 Choose SafeExamBrowser.exe
2. If you encounter ‘‘Setting Require New Dekstop Kiosk Mode” Notification, you can make a
local administrator through this website: https://support.microsoft.com/en-
us/help/4026923/windows-10-create-a-local-user-or-administrator-account

3. Please make sure to follow these steps to prevent any issues while running the test program:
a. Disable the antivirus and windows update before downloading and running the Test
Program
b. Make sure to have Firefox web browser installed in your device
c. Make sure to follow through all of the installation steps
d. Participants must use all of the supporting applications provided by the exam
committee, this includes Zoom Meeting application.

4. If you encounter a pop-up window notifying that the test time’s up even before you begin to
do the test, here are what to do:
1) Log out and quit the program,

2) Right click on date and time information located on your device taskbar

3) Choose Adjust date/time

4) Make sure to have your device time and time zone setting on automatic setting and

synchronized.

5. If Zoom Meeting app does not appear when you run cbt-ugm.seb, it is possible that
a. The Zoom Meeting app is not located in your device system accordingly as instructed
in the installation manual.

b. You can run the Safe Exam Browser app, but Zoom app does not appear on your
screen

SOLUTION : Make sure that Zoom Folder is located in your device Local Disk C:\ (system) and
when you open the folder the display will look as shown in the picture below

c. Zoom Meeting app only appear as an icon on the lower left corner of the screen and
not automatically displayed on the monitor

SOLUTION : Zoom can be opened by clicking the camera button/Zoom icon

on the lower left corner of the screen , then choose ‘zoom


cloud meeting’.

6. Appearing notification for ‘Permitted or Prohibited Processes Are Running’

CAUSE : The app referred in the notification is open when you run cbt-ugm.seb
SOLUTION : Choose ‘OK’, the aforementioned app will be closed automatically and you
can smoothly run the test program.

7. Disconnection / Instability / Trouble with Internet Connection internet

SOLUTION : Make sure you have stable internet connection and then click the reload

button located on the lower right corner of the screen , wait


for the display to get back to normal

Notes: If you are using SEB Version 3.1 you can find the reload button located on the
upper left corner of the screen.

8. Appearing display of ‘Lost Connection to SEB Kiosk Application’

SOLUTION : Enter the password ‘upap’, click ‘unlock’, make sure your internet
connection is stable, then run cbt-ugm.seb again.
