Dialogue Between Midwifes and Patients

Dialogue Between Midwifes and Patients
(The midwife also invited Mrs. Ana to the examination room, and it was found
that Ana's condition was quite good)
Midwife : Fine. Mrs. Ana. I've checked your condition. Then, before that I
want to ask you some questions. During this fasting month do you
fast too?
Ana : Yes ma'am r, I usually fast because I want to join my family for
sahur. Will it have a bad effect on my pregnancy mom?
Midwife : Oh, of course not. Fasting has no negative impact on your
pregnancy. However, there are some things that you should pay
attention to when fasting, for example, how many times do you
usually drink water during this fast and at what time?
Ana : I usually rarely drink water, because I am not too thirsty at dawn
or when breaking fast.
Midwife : Then, how about resting? especially when you sleep during the
day or at night
Ana : As for resting, right now I am a little sleep deprived because
during the day I help to prepare food for breaking the fast or at night I
also help to prepare the sahur
Midwife : Fine. at this time your womb has entered Trimester 2 (Two),
which is about 16 weeks. At this gestational age, it must cause you
discomfort. And cramps in your legs are one of the most
uncomfortable feelings of this phase. Don't worry, leg cramps are
a common thing and often occur, especially in the 2nd (Two) and
3rd (Three) trimesters. However, the factors causing it are still not
known with certainty. However, there are things that aggravate
leg cramps, earlier from you said that you don't drink enough water
and get enough rest, especially the disruption of sleep time. Two
things that are causing the cramps in your legs to get worse. And
there are other factors that can influence such as changes in your
blood circulation. Slowing changes in blood circulation are a
common occurrence and not a condition to worry about. Lack of
magnesium and calcium intake. An increase in hormones during
pregnancy causes blood flow in the body to change. This is
coupled with the effect of the hormone progesterone which causes
muscle tension in the leg area of a pregnant woman.
Ana : It means because I don't drink enough and don't get enough rest,
right? then, how do I get rid of cramps in my legs ma'am?
Midwife : To overcome this is by stretching the muscles. Immediately
stretch the muscles by pointing your legs straight forward, you may feel
pain. However, over time the cramps will slowly disappear. Move
your legs by walking. Use a warm compress to compress the
cramped area. Then, for prevention, mothers can do some of these
tips, namely stretching the calves by stretching the legs during the
day. With this, mother can undoubtedly avoid leg cramps that
appear at night. Drink lots of water, because the mother is fasting.
When we wake up for dawn, we should immediately drink one
glass of water. Then after eating a vegetable dish, fill your body
with 1 glass of water again. Well, after fasting all day, you must
break the fast with 1 or 2 glasses of water and sweet drinks to
increase low sugar levels during fasting. Afterwards, while eating
dinner, drink 2 more glasses of water until just before tarawih.
After returning from Tarawih, drink more water. Likewise before going
to bed, you can consume one more glass of water. That way, your
need for 8 glasses of water is met. You need adequate rest, ideally
eight hours at night and one hour during the day. If for example
you are confused, you can shift the time to sleep at night. If everything
is in order. Get ready to cook sahur. Then take the time to sleep
after only half an hour, so don't get too close to dawn. So, is there any
confusion about this explanation?
Ana : Not ma'am. I think I understand enough. However, can I ask for
your phone number so I can consult immediately if there is a problem?
Midwife : Of course, I wrote down my phone number in your book.
Ana : Thank you ma'am for the information, I will excuse you first.
Midwife : Yes, it's the same, I hope you get better soon.
