1. Covid -19 test is a reverse transcriptase (RT) real time polymerase chain reaction (PCR) test which is an ICMR
approved methodology performed on Nasopharyneal / Oropharyengeal swabs for screening and confirmation.
2. A not detected (Negative) result does not exclude the possibility with the infection.
3. Invalid Result : If Ct>30 or No Ct detected for N gene , RdRp gene and internal control, indicating the
specimen concentration is too low, or there are interfering substances that inhibit the reaction. If upon retest, the
result is invalid again, another fresh sample will be collected and tested.
4. False positive and false negative results can be caused by poor specimen quality, improper sample collection,
improper transportation, improper laboratory processing, or a limitation of the testing technology.
5. This investigation has its own limitation which is subjected by limits of sensitivity and specificity of individual
assay procedures as well as the quality of specimen received in the laboratory. Isolated laboratory investigation
cannot confirm the final diagnosis. Kindly correlate the results with clinical conditions.
6. Note: Analysis is based on the samples received to the lab. Partial reproduction of the report is not permitted.
