TITLE: TRANFORMATIONAL LEADERSHIP TRAINING

RATIONALE:

Schools are the best places for learning. It is the right place for the right people who are said to
be the builders and molders of men – the teachers. Teachers transpired learning in different fields of
discipline , different teaching styles and approaches – hence differentiated instruction that fits the
learning needs and the learning styles of learners . Multi intelligences among the students are very
much observable in school . To address multi intelligences among the students , teachers must be well
– prepared with teaching strategies , methods and techniques , instructional materials and intervention
materials to suit learners’ needs without deviating the content standards prescribed by this Department.

Teachers teaching his/her field subject should not be isolated in the four walls of the
classrooms but to associate with other mentors to share best practices and expertise in teaching so to
enhance learning outcomes among the students across the curriculum.. As a common observation
students nowadays termed as the 21st century students are different from students before because
students of today’s generation are much exposed to social media , influences from the peer and the
community as well as drug abuse that which led them to truancy . There a lot of factors that affect
students learning in school hence teachers must be equipped with knowledge , skills in dealing the
students. In addition patience , perseverance understanding , knowing the students background and
greater stress tolerance among the teachers must also be incorporated in the teaching and learning
process so that students interest in learning will be uphold and sustained and that students at risk to
drop out will be minimized if not eradicated. Thus, teachers must attend / undergo trainings pertaining
to gender sensitivity.

Along with this quest non – teaching personnel must also be aware on gender sensitivity most
specially that they are also dealing with students , hence they are part of the above – said training.

Towards this end , the Sinonoc national High School Teachers together with its staff and
administration decided to have a one day training workshop on the “ Transformational Leadership
Training” which will be held on December 22, 2017 at DAKAK PARK AND BEACH RESORT ,
TAGUILON , DAPITAN CITY , ZAMBOANGA DEL NORTE. It is believed that adopting the new
trends in teaching and classroom management as well the application of gender sensitivity practices
will help improved the learning output of the learners thus learning is holistic.

OBJECTIVES:
 The main goal of the said training workshop is anchored on the following objectives where it is
expected that the teachers and staff will :
1. Be equipped with the new teaching styles and teaching strategies.
2. Adopt and apply the new trend in teaching in his/her classroom discourse.
3. Realized that the greatest icon in the system are the students hence listening to the voices of the
learners are significant.
4. Teachers and Staff should give emphasis on gender sensitivity in dealing with the learners.
5. Support staff will realize that they are part of the system and that they have equal
responsibilities with the teachers in molding students future.
6. Teaching is fun.

PARTICIPANTS:

The participants to this training are the 51 school personnel : 1 School Principal , 1 Head
Teacher – III , 1 Head Teacher –I , 1 Master Teacher – II , 2 Master Teacher – I , 12 Senior High
School Teachers , 1 School Nurse _ II , 30 Junior High School Teachers , 1 School Registrar , and 2
Disbursing Officers. It is expected that the non teaching personnel will join and attend the training ,
workshop together with the teachers as one functional group in the system. They are expected to
express their commitment and statement of support to the school for a common goal – better students
learning outcome.

TARGET DATE :

The training is scheduled on December 22,2017

TARGET VENUE:

It is believed that trainings and seminars are more effective if the venue is friendly, refreshing ,
unwinding , safe and comfortable to the participants, hence the chosen venue is at
DAKAK PARK AND BEACH RESORT - TAGUILON, DAPITAN CITY , ZAMBOANGA DEL
NORTE .

RECOMMENDATION:

It is highly recommended that teachers will undergo training in order for them to :

1. Upgrade teaching practices and enrich teachers with new trends in teaching.
2. Streamline teaching strategies and techniques so to enhance learning outcomes
3. Adopt gender sensitivity practices in all classroom discourse to help save students at risk to
drop out
4. Non – teaching personnel must adopt and practice gender sensitivity in all their undertakings
and work in harmony to teachers , administration and students
5. Unwind teachers and staff in a day – to – day environment.

It is also good for the non teaching personnel to join the teachers’ training because being part of
the schools’ technical working group they will also realize that their skills are needed to
progress the systems efficiency.
