Here are the phrases from the lesson.


1. Kunt u het herhalen alstublieft?
"Please repeat that."

Kunt u means "Can you"
Het means "it"
Herhalen means "repeat"
Alstublieft means "please"

Phrase Two: Hoe zeg ik.... in het nederlands?

This is a great phrase. You get to rediscover the world again through Dutch eyes.
You can learn very quickly if you use this phrase and ask lots of questions.

Hoe means "how"


Zeg is the verb for "you say"

Ik means "I"
After that, you insert the word or point at what you want to know.
In het nederlands means "in Dutch"

Phrase Three: Mag ik wat vragen....

Not only is this a great phrase to learn so that you can ask the teacher a question, but it's also a great
phrase to use to get you what you want!

Mag ik means "May I" or "Can I"

vragen means "to ask"

Phrase Four: Ik begrijp het niet.

We can use this phrase on all occasions.

Ik means "I"

Niet here is a negative and translates as "not"
Begrijp means "understand."

As Dutch people tend to talk at the speed of light, this phrase will come in handy.
