Semi-Detailed Lesson Plan in Understanding Culture, Society and Politics

I. Objectives
At the end of the lesson, the pupils will be able to:

a. Identify the different characteristics of culture;

b. Internalize the importance of the characteristic of culture in their development as a


person;

c. Write a composition expressing their thoughts on how they can use their knowledge on
these characteristics in the development and in saving our culture from extinction for
the next generation.

II. Content

a. Subject Matter: Characteristics of Culture

b. Reference: Understanding Culture, Society, and Pollitics

c. Materials: PowerPoint presentation, Laptop, LCD Projector, and other


instructional materials

III. Procedure:

d. Review of the past lesson

b. Motivation

The teacher will show a picture of an identical twin and let them look at is
thoroughly. After 20 seconds, she will ask the students, if what they have noticed.

c. Presentation of lesson
The teacher will ask if what makes an identical the different if they will consider
other aspects aside from physical appearance.

d. Discussion

The teacher will ask the students to identify the different characteristics of culture
using the game 4-pics-1-word. After that, she will activate their prior knowledge
about it based on the pictures and discuss more about it using the Socratic
Method.

e. Generalization:

The teacher will divide class into four groups and will show pictures depicting the
characteristics of culture. The students will internalize the importance of the
characteristic in their development as a person.

IV. Evaluation

The teacher will let the students write a composition their thoughts on how they can
use their knowledge on these characteristics in the development and in saving our
culture as Filipino from extinction for the next generation.

V. Assignment

The teacher let the students researched and answered given questions about cultural
relativism and ethnocentrism.
