ROLE PROFILE

Assistant Officer – ICT and Content Development


TEAM/PROGRAMME : EGE/Education LOCATION : Dhaka
GRADE : F CONTRACT LENGTH: 6 months
Child Safeguarding:
Level 2: either the role holder will have access to personal data about children and/or young people as part of
their work; or they will be working in a ‘regulated’ position (accountant, barrister, solicitor, legal executive);
therefore a police check will be required (at ‘standard’ level in the UK or as applicable).
ROLE PURPOSE:
This position is mainly responsible for supporting field level operations through supporting education
facilitators for using EGE learning management software (EGE LMS), EGE e-monitoring and information
system (EGE EMIS), monitoring sessions conducted by the education facilitators and field staffs in the project
intervention areas. S/he will monitor and update database of the project regularly and inform team for taking
decisions and further actions. S/he also support team to develop materials and deliver training to the project
stakeholders.

Role Dimensions: Position based in BdCO, Dhaka. The Assistant Officer - ICT & Content Developoment is
expected to spend approximately 40% of his/her work time in field.
KEY AREAS OF ACCOUNTABILITY:

A. Content Development
 Provide support to develop teaching-learning materials for the education facilitators working in EGE
intervention areas.
 Provide support to develop training materials for developing capacity of the education facilitators,
head teachers, assistant teachers and program staffs.

C. Information, Communication and Technology


 Provide support to test and provide insights for the development of EGE Learning Management
System (LMS) and EGE E-Monitoring and Information System (EMIS).
 Provide support to ensure quality of the EGE LMS and EGE EMIS.
 Provide support to the Education Facilitators (EF) to understand and successfully operate EGE
Learning Management Software (LMS).
 Provide support to the Education Facilitators (EF) to understand and successfully operate EGE E-
Monitoring and Information System (EMIS).
 Provide day to day support to the EFs during their use of EGE LMS and EGE EMIS.
 Maintain regular communication with ICT team to trouble shoot day to day errors/challenges of EGE
LMS and EGE EMIS

D. Monitoring and Evaluation


 Provide support to EF and urban schools so that skype sessions happen regularly.
 Monitor learning centres, e-content sessions, 21st century skills sessions, skype sessions, parents’
sessions and other EGE activities in the project intervention areas.
 Monitor, collect and update database of the project regularly and inform team to take decision.
 Frequently travel to project intervention areas (outside Dhaka) to monitor project activities.

E. General:
 Attend trainings, meetings, and workshops as required.
 Be willing to work in any emergency or disaster situation anywhere in Bangladesh.

QUALIFICATIONS:
Academic: Bachelor degree, preferably in Computer Science and Engineering (CSE)/ ICT/ or relevant
subjects.

EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS:

ESSENTIAL
Working Experience: Preferably 2 years working experience, preferably in ICT in Education program

Job related Knowledge: Knowledge about digital contents, e-learning platforms, e-monitoring platforms,
software, mobile applications, etc. Comprehensive knowledge on primary education curriculum, textbooks,
21st century skills, materials development, capacity development, etc. Experience related to ICT in education,
teaching using digital platforms will be asset.
