MGT1111 – CASE STUDY

CASE NO.3: Economic Development in Bangladesh, page 629

Introduction:

Bangladesh one of the poorest nations in the world, yet so much to give to the
economy. Bangladesh has been known to be hit by natural disasters, the moment the
water rises the country would be filled with damages that would cost them a lot to
recover. They were able to sustain and innovate to help the economy by being the
second largest to export garments that are ready-made. It was able to benefit a lot in
different categories such as their agricultural sector. Although the country is striving its
best to improve the economy, they are still being challenged but it is one of the
countries with the most potential to seek growth.

Aims:

This study aims to know the reason why the country Bangladesh seems to be
stuck on their position after being able to lead and give certain solutions to poverty.

Method:

The research method I used for this study is through the summary and
observation of the chapter encountered.

Results:

According to the National Differences in Economic System, HDI or Human

Development Index are based on three measures, its life expectancy, educational
attainment and sufficiency to meet the basic needs of people.
The reason why I find that Bangladesh is stuck on the level they are standing
now, because they lack education. Education will provide higher growth rates, provides
positive outcome for the nation and its economy, because they are knowledgeable
enough to be challenged with the problem-solution method. People will become more
productive because even though they have not encountered a certain problem, they will
provide innovative solution through their stock knowledge. Bangladesh will be able to
trade and negotiate more with foreign investors making it catch up to other growing
economies.

Discussion:

The significance of this study is beneficial to future leaders, to know situations

like this and provide solutions and to take into consideration the steps into making future
leaders for a better economy for the country.

Recommendations:
I would recommend Bangladesh to invest more on education, for people to be
more knowledgeable with regards to the situation they are facing now, to be able to
innovate to provide positive growth not just for the economy but also for the people who
makes and molds the economy of their country.
