II. PROJECT DESCRIPTION

In this project, children will learn how to create their own DIY bags out of their own specified material
using an online video tutorial. Children are given the opportunity to design and create their own DIY bags
where they can customize them. While participating in the crafts, children will not only be able to
demonstrate their creativity but will also have fun while learning the best way to make stuff, like a DIY
bag out of their hard work.

The video includes some brief explanation of the project materials, followed by a detailed demonstration
of each step listed above. Rather than capturing everything in a single shot, we recorded the processes
step by step. Additionally, to prevent stuttering as well as to make the video shorter, voice overs for
directions were recorded. Lastly, the clips recorded were combined to make a complete video on how to
create a DIY bag.

III. PROJECT RATIONALE

Since the pandemic has been ongoing, I was surprised at how expensive school supplies have become.
This causes students to be unable to buy their necessities and depend primarily on their discarded items,
which are frequently deteriorated. In response to this issue, students from our university created an
activity that will enable them to design and build custom bags for everyday use.

Besides being a way to provide children with a means to store their belongings, I wanted to accomplish
this project to bring joy and assure them that there are people willing to help. This endeavor also serves
to stimulate children's creativity and turn it into a hobby.

IV. PROJECT BENEFICIARIES

Mapua University's adopted communities are among the beneficiaries of the project. Our project is
intended for children and adolescents between the ages of 7 to 12. It was deemed more practicable to
assess individuals in this age range since they can be assessed more easily than younger children as well
as be more likely to require assistance. Additionally, it is their right to indulge in a fun pastime that could
later become a hobby. Teaching children such as these how to create DIY bags is another way to help
them start a small business selling the many different designs they have created. In this way, the children
would be able to earn some money and buy some necessities they might need.

V. PROJECT OBJECTIVES

• The goal of this program is to help children develop their skills and talents.
• The goal of this program is to provide assistance and encouraged children to further develop their
creativity, imagination, skills, abilities, and innovative thinking.
• The goal of this program is to facilitate children in learning the importance of minimizing waste
and that it is not necessary to dispose of everything that has been discarded, as it may prove
useful in the future.
