Chapter 4.

Configuration of User Terminals

4.7. Hisilicon Chipset Based Devices

4.7.1. RF Diagnostics
Commercial devices cannot be used with TEMS Investigation; Hisilicon
chipset based devices must be equipped with special diagnostics-enabled
firmware from Hisilicon, and diagnostics licenses must be installed on the
devices using Hisilicon’s Huut.exe tool.
A secret code must be entered on the device itself in order to enable the
diagnostics ports.

4.7.2. Hisilicon UE Agent

A software utility called Hisilicon UE Agent must be running on the PC to
enable activation of a Hisilicon chipset based device in TEMS Investigation.
This utility is included among the device drivers.
The full procedure to follow is given in section 3.1.5.

4.7.3. Wireless Network Adapter

If the Hisilicon device is configured to use a static, empty IPv4 address, this
must be changed.
• Disable and re-enable the device’s wireless network adapter.
• In the wireless adapter properties, change the settings to “Obtain an IP
address automatically” and “Obtain DNS server address
automatically”.

4.8. HTC Vivid Test Key Devices with TEMS

Pocket
If an HTC Vivid Test Key device has TEMS Pocket installed and has been
configured to respond to TEMS Pocket control functions, it must be
reconfigured before it can be used with TEMS Investigation. What you must
do is to enable external diagnostics for TEMS Investigation in the HTC SSD
Test Tool which is installed on the phone:
• Under All Tools, select Debug Tool.
